I cant even remember if it was him on that last play, but either way I know I was livid and sowas everyone... and y'all may have discussed it already...

But I recall the WR slowing down and looking back, which made the CB turn around to locate the ball and the WR sprinted out to make the grab.

Am I right? Does Foreman get any slack cut or did I see the play wrong?

No you saw it right but I still think he should have had better focus on that play.

You saw it right. In the heat of the battle though I thought he just said "screw it" for some reason and slowed up. But after rewatching the game a few hundred times it was clear that he reacted to the WR slowing down and then looked back thinking the ball was coming soon and by the time he turned back around he was out of position and the receiver was open in the end zone

He let the WR get behind him. If he couldn't prevent that he should have wrapped him up and TN would only have given up a 15 yard penalty. Freshman mistakes... only #13 isn't a freshman. #24 blew the coverage as well. But those are the best players we have in those spots right now. Hopefully they make fewer mistakes like those moving forward.

I'm glad the game ended the way it did :)

#24? I thought #22 was the safety on that side.

Without that play there would have never been the heart break and then the most exciting play I have ever witnessed.

#24 (Todd Kelly) didn't blow coverage. There was another receiver(McKenzie I think) was going deep too and he got behind his man (Gaulden), Kelly was basically trying to defend 2 WR's from catching a deep bomb

It looked (to me) that he was worried about a back shoulder catch and slowed to find the ball...but if we had a dominating safety the pass would have been broken up anyway...with Sutton out, I don't see any future NFL DBs on the field for us right now...we have some good guys but lack a superstar like a Dale Carter, Deon Grant, Eric Berry, etc...I'm hoping Warrior might be our next great DB...

I saw it differently. I think he and Abernathy read the play as going to the post route. That is why Abernathy went that way and offered no help on the route. Still no excuse for Foreman, who had only one assignment on the play, to let that happen. But Abernathy screwed up too.

He gets a little slack since he made the interception that sent the Georgia faithful heading for the exits. If we could have managed one first down we could have ended the game. However, that didn't pan out and we had a shoot out finish at the end.

Foreman got beat, but he was looking for the ball (unlike another DB who would have just plowed into the WR or totally get burned). He was trying to make a football play, but got played instead.

You could be right, but still dumb by Foreman. A back shoulder catch doesn't beat you there. But a TD sure as he!! Does 98.6% of the time according to ESPN win probabilities.

I thought Butch said TK should have helped on that play. It was on the Butch Jones Show.

You are correct. Fuad said the same. The DB feels the receiver slowing, turning, eyes widen...Basically he reads the body language so he can position himself to make a play on the ball. The issue is the coverage the coaches called. The receiver should NEVER get behind you on a play where a TD is required.

Absolutely correct. I would bet the house that this will be a huge point of emphasis this week. The sad thing is that it has been emphasized to these players since high school.

It was #22 Abernathy...

He's been solid this year but I do believe both safeties have been out of position some...he didn't get over in time to break this one up and neither safety was able to cut off the TE on their long TD pass...

People forget that we lost a pair of safeties from last year's team that had started about every game for the last 3 seasons...

Fuad was incredulous...his word, not mine about it. No reason to not be in 2 deep on the UGA play.

The sad thing is that we appeared to be in 2-deep on the play. It looked to me like they sent three receivers deep. Abernathy double the middle receiver and then Eason threw to the outside.

Abernathy's mistake is that he committed too soon. Had he stayed in his back peddle until the throw was made, he most likely would have still made it over there.

Where was #24? Is it possible that #22 was out of position while trying to cover for a blown assignment on the other side? The CBS video probably isn't showing the whole coverage. I've not watched it more than once live plus halfway paying attention to Butch's analysis.
