Dee Beckwith status?

I'm not privy to what the coaches see, but Solomon's film was not very impressive in 2020. If we had more depth, I really doubt he would have been a starter in 2020.

I agree Solomon’s tape is not very impressive, as he does not flash or stand out. I rarely saw him in the backfield blowing up a play. HOWEVER, Solomon was one of the highest graded run stoppers at his position in the SEC. It’s been mentioned a time or two the past few years. Not all stats show up on the stat sheet. He is what he is, but is still very solid a lot of the time clogging the middle. Most people just don’t notice it.

No, under Pruitt, Solomon entered the season first string, and was still listed first string on the depth chart at seasons end as well (when healthy). So no, it wasn’t out of necessity Solomon was playing.

It was more out of necessity that Kurott Garland was playing, and that Elijah Simmons was playing out of necessity as a freshman.

Same can be said for Omari Thomas. He played more last year under Pruitt than this year under Heupel. Which speaks to his lack of consistency and motivation just like I said.

Rodney Gardner and Heupel have both reiterated such in press conferences when asked if Solomon/Thomas will receive more PT opportunities going forward. On Solomon Heupel reiterates “ if he continues to show progress and motivation to do things the right way on and off the field, he will.

Also, losing Emmitt Gooden didn’t help, or signing Savion Williams, and having Greg Emerson transfer too. That puts a lot more pressure on our DT’s…just numbers wise. Number of plays without being able to rotate as much, which gives more opportunities for injuries as well.
Gooden hasn’t been on the team for 3 years. 😖

Yeah coach’s never make mistakes.
Of course they do. He appears to have made one with Milton. But all the evidence we have says that Bailey simply hasn't earned consideration. He's never been higher than 3rd. It isn't like he and another guy were neck and neck for the #1 spot and he's getting screwed. The reports suggest that he's not as good running the ball, passing the ball, or operating the O.

It isn't all that rare for someone to do well in practice then not perform as well on game day. It is VERY rare that a guy is 3rd in practice but then best on game day. Coaches have to go with the probabilities. Almost all of the time, the guys who will perform on game day will perform in practice.

No. That is not true. Emmitt Gooden was on the team both in 2019 and 2020 (prior to fall camp). In 2019 he succumbed to injury in preseason camp and didn’t play but was still in the program. In 2020 he was on the team ready to play but was dismissed for aggravated domestic assault in July ‘20. You might want to take another look. And for what it’s worth, he was a projected starter both years.

So is Dee Beckwith gone or unknown right now? The last page is full of talk about other players

I know what I’m talking about. Hasn’t PLAYED in 3 years. So NOT ON THE TEAM. How’s he being counted as a RECENT “loss”? Same territory as Baylen Buchanan. Why isn’t Chuck Webb on any of these attrition lists?

No, you obviously don’t know what you’re talking about. You have failed to refute either of my claims that Gooden was “on the team” in 2019, or 2020. Which he was, but was not an active participant in games, because of injury; and then dismissal. The words that he “hasn’t PLAYED” in three years are your words, not mine. Being on the team, and playing for the team, are two entirely different things that you can’t seem to grasp.

And again, I never once said he was a “RECENT” loss. Those are your words entirely, not mine…once again. Oh, and by the way; capitalizing multiple words in your response doesn’t give them anymore validity or credence. It merely substantiates what I’ve already come to believe of your intellectual capabilities. So I thought I would help you out by capitalizing a few of my own .… maybe that will help you. Have a nice day.

Have a horrible day…you wordy hack. Gooden been GONE for a long time…FACT.

This offense is not my system to run but stepping off the bus I can’t understand why you wouldn’t use him as a third down run/pass pro or short yardage back. He’s built to be used that way.

Solomon started and played extensively under Pruitt…I would not say he struggled there at all. He had one of the highest grades, if not the highest, on our team against the run. Solomon’s biggest problems are consistency and effort…I’ve also heard rumblings he has a bad back that flares up sometimes too.
Lack of consistency and effort will definitely put a player on the bench with CRG. I assumed that was the reason for his lack of PT this year. I hope it’s not back problems and that if so, that he gets healthy.

Yes, I definitely agree with that sentiment. Have to be on top of your game to play for CRG. Let’s pray its not back problems for Solomon.

You are just picking man. We all know what he meant.

Does anyone know what is going on with Dee Beckwith? All I remember reading in the spring and beginning of camp was how effective he was going to be. But I don't remember seeing him even on the field as of yet. I'm not questioning coaching, just curious if someone knows his status.
