When do you put up Christmas decorations?

When do you put up your Christmas decorations? Having this "discussion" with the wife and am curious as to other folks' traditions.

Usually the first week in December I will put my tree up and decorate it.

Funny this got brought up. My wife has been preparing already. It is a huge event for her since we never have Thanksgiving dinner at our house.

She "starts decorating" the weekend prior to Thanksgiving. Its usually done within a week or two.

i normally do it early in the dec. i wanna look at it as long as i can, and i hate putting that crap up now for real!!!

Early to Mid December. The town I work in has put up their Christmas decorations on the telephone poles downtown a week before Halloween. That's ridiculously early.

Oh jeez taking the damn tree apart is the worst part. Sometimes I just want to throw the damn tree outside. If had more room in my house i'd just store it in one of the spare rooms, decorated and all. Lulz.

The wife has told me we're doing it the weekend after Thanksgiving this year....and she told me "I" was decorating outside this year as well.

oh god ur gonna go all out for her huh? that'll be nice of u, haha heart i hear u i hate the tree to... sometimes i think it'd be best if u just throw it all out and get new stuff next yr cuz all the tangles and stuff... god its a headache!!

lol Tiger. I think I spent in the neighborhood of $400 last year on light alone. This year I think we should have a photo thread of Christmas decorations and lights.

mid-late november. i usually keep it up until the end of january. what can i say, i like christmas lights...

Used to decorate the tree the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Then, on to the other decorations after the tree was done.

my tree at my apt is a 4 ft tall UK tree so it's been known to stay up thru the end of march madness
