After the Cotton Bowl to end the '04 season, I honestly thought that we could win a national championship in 2005.
Also, if I'm not mistaken, besides Fulmer passing out roses on the plane back from Gainesiville, the following week he, John Henderson, and Travis Stephens spent 2 days in Orlando being finalists for some awards.
I had a bad bad feeling then because it was during practice week for the game.
Fulmer had some really good wins but he has also crapped the bed, Dooley vs UK style, in this game.
We were also picked fairly high to start the 2002 season as well but the genius coaching of Ron Zook took that down quick.

And it all went down the toilet from there...

Oh, I see. I don't understand why anyone would bash anyone for listening to any sports talk show. We are addicted Vol fans. I listen to any and every whenever I can. I work all day with ESPN on in my office, The Sports Animal on the radio, Volnation at my fingertips. Hell, I'm screwed! I'm a freakin Vol freakin freak!! I'll take it how ever I can get it. HUH??
Fulmer had two careers at UT. The one where he was hungry and the one where he was entitled and complacent. The problems didn't start with the LSU game but that was a watershed event.
95-19... that was Fulmer's career record the night he lost that game.
He was a very pedestrian 57-32 after that. Over half of his losses came in the last 6 years of his 17 years run.
Worse yet, UT had ceased to be competitive with the top tier of the SEC and most of it related to coaching and program discipline.
