A sobering stat was revealed to me the other day that since 2000 we have a combined record of 15-45 against Georgia , Florida and Bama I didn’t realize how badly we have fared against our 3 big rivals in the last 20 years especially this past decade. Here’s hoping as Pruitt said this decade is the decade of the Vols and we can get our record turned around against the big 3. I remember that not too long ago we led the head to head series against Florida and Georgia and only 5 wins behind Bama.

Yes, twas no so long ago the UT/Bama series was only separated by 5 games. My, what the last roughly 12 years can change. Very sad.

I remember when UT led the Florida and Georgia series too.

Vols would have to go on a huge run to catch up to Bama, but here's to hoping. No other school has beaten Bama more than UT, so it can be done....

As for UGA and UF surpassing UT in series, blame UTs administration over the past 20 years....

Bama holds a .589 to a UT .407 winning percentage over one another (I think this is correct), so statistically it's not very unbalanced.

Vols need to run off a few and we need Auburn to drop a few, so they don't catch and pass UT in this department.

Auburn is getting closer they won 4 against Bama this past decade

The expectation at UT should be competing with the Bama's of the world and winning roughly every other time they play (on average).

This is really not an unreasonable expectation to have......

Over the past decade, UT has been swapping wins and losses with the Missouris and Vandys of the world.....and poor Kentucky has been given us a run for our money.....yikes

When Saban leaves Bama, they will have a period of about 3-5 years where they won't sustain the level of success. I think UGA will always be on autopilot for 9-10 wins per season. The talent there is just off the charts. Kirby finds a way to mess it up. I think this decade's theme for the SEC East will be the Mullen and Pruitt show. Could see UF and Tennessee battling for the division titles every year.....

Over the course of 100 games that's a 59-41 advantage. That's pretty significant for a blue-blood of the SEC.

Ky has not given us a run for our money. Beat us twice since 1984!!!
Some things in sports just never change. Tennessee owns the pussies in football and we seem to acquit ourselves relatively well against them in hoops.

There are two things that are really, really sad about this.

1. If you asked me to guess the record without posting it first, I would have guessed it was worse than 15 wins ...

2. Since 2000, Florida has had some pretty mediocre coaches and seasons. Alabama has had Saban for most of that time, and Richt never reached the promised land but had good teams. Florida though? They've had some pathetic seasons.
