We need a coach by Tuesday, to give him at least two weeks to get some recruits in here. I think we need to try to get a few that we lost and make up for them. Honestly, I think we need one by tomorrow. We can’t set around to much longer, can we?

You don’t hire a coach to save one recruiting class. This hire is going to set the tone for the next several years.

Take your time, make it good.

Throw early recruiting out the window. Concentrate on the best coach and whoever our EEs are that's going to start in January.

I think it will be announced soon. But, my guess is that they have a lay of the land and don't like what they see.

I think his "Come Together" tweet was trying to get a certain vibe going before the hire, because I think they know people are not going to be doing cartwheels when they announce the hire.

We'll see.

Hubbs stated CPF told the recruits we'll have a coach by their OV this weekend. I know he is going to rub elbows/networking while in NYC at the HOF ceremonies. I also heard Taggart, Patterson, Fuente declined. My aybe hrs got Brohm lined back up, just waiting for his buyout to drop to 4mil cone Wednesday. No other sitting P5 is possible, IMO. I think we are looking a coordinator (Pruitt, Tee,Steele) or a Morris, Norvell type.

A client of my buddy said he saw December 20ths agent was looking for rental properties in the area. Said December 20th signed a MOU and will take place next Saturday right after Friday December 8th . He has no reason to fib but TIFWIW

But we should be doing cartwheels. Just make a damn good hire who will restore winning football at Tennessee. This is not rocket science. If Fulmer screws this up, he and Davenport will both be gone.

Coach is much more important than one recruiting class. Just forget about this class. The best guys from this class are gone anyway.

The only guy still standing from the initial “up and comer” list is Norvell. I don’t know why they are not rumored to be after him.

But, everyone else is gone or not coming.

There are not a lot of options here

I hate to say it but I think you are right. I am fully prepared to be underwhelmed with a Les Miles type hire.

No coordinators are going to fix this. I can't believe Fulmer fell for the Davenport move. Watching her presser with Fulmer on Friday... how the hell did we hire her as Chancellor? Unless Fulmer gets damn lucky on this hire, both of them will be gone in two years.

I don’t think it’s about whether fans are against him or not, it’s whether Tennessee decision makers are and that seems to be the case.

We know that’s the case with Kiffin.

Sumlin is the other guy who is available

Yup. And they need to get over it. Kiffin and Leach are probably the best two options that would for sure come.
