Sometimes it’s best to give thanks for unanswered prayers. 11 years ago a fanbase was in meltdown mode (granted, different circumstances) about a coach telling the school faithful thanks, but no thanks. The coach? Rich Rodriquez

The school was forced to aim higher as the fans demanded a big name run the football program. No turning back, all in, go big or go home. Fans demanded it, three weeks later, Nick Saban was hired. Funny how things work out sometimes...

Thought about that today.I lived in Tuscaloosa during that search and it was wild. About as wild as this one for us. Spurrier was the hot name amongst the students too.

I really don't think this ends with a HR football hire.
UT needs to seize control from the Haslams. That's the only good outcome I can see from this. We're going to have a hard time attracting a decent coach. We have either no leadership or bad leadership (take your pick), and now we're being called toxic for rejecting a coach based on hearsay. But, I stand by that decision over having to fall in line and defend Schiano's reputation as a fan base going forward.
