Debord

He cannot throw the ball. Dobbs may not be the best passer. I don't care. We may not have the best pass protection, I don't care. But he can roll out and pass the dang ball. We have two starting healthy 5* receivers. Come on. This is BS. in order to have a good established run game, you have to make them respect the deep threat. This play calling was VANILLA!

This game was waaay too close for comfort. Not ok. The talent here, you boys (coaching staff) better freaking get your rear in gear for Bristol.

This crap on the national stage makes us look bad.

I waited far too long to watch this garbage and honestly, it reminded me of some Dooley era BS. I told those idiots on threads Dooley was horse manure.

ZERO excuses for this crap. Deboard, SOUND OFF LIKE YOU GOT A PAIR! You are paid to win. Hurd up the middle ain't gonna cut it when they know he's coming up the middle even with these undersized dudes. Kamara needs more touches as to the RECEIVERS! You are lucky we won. VERY LUCKY!

Most of Kamara's 9 touches came very late in the game: I don't think he had more than 2 carries and maybe one catch until the fourth Q or close to it. Mix it up, man--and throw to the middle of the field, yes. Use all the weapons and stop trying to run Hurd 25 times a game.

Agree. And we have a 3rd back that is good too that could be worked into the rotation but at the very least, let Kamara carry some of that load! It will also save Hurd from potential injury.

His philosophy seems to be centered around the idea that if we call the run 8x in a row, chances are one of those times the opposing defense might not expect it!

And if we throw 6 screen passes in a row, one player just might miss a tackle.

I swear Debord is holding this team back. I think we would be better off with random playcalls. The guy continues to be committed to the run even when other teams are committed to stopping it and stacking the box.

Its' not even that we are running the ball so much that bothers me, but the fact that we are not deceptive at all about it. Hurd up the middle, hurd to the left, Hurd to the left, Punt..Before Debord came we would let Dobbs run with an outside option, or put two backs in, or do some end arounds..the things is we changed it up. Tonight, we didn't even stretch or challenge the defense. We just ran right into them. Truly painful to watch.

Did anyone else think it was strange that Dobbs only had a few runs out of the zone read? I felt like I was watching Worley again. I'm hoping that was part of the game plan and that we didn't want to let Dobbs take unnecessary hits

I love how people make threats to the coaching staff like they would actually do something as a consequence. Oh and using capitalization to yell throughout their post. It's MILDLY entertaining!

Yes. Back to the pretend-zone-read-slow-developing-dive-offense

I'm amazed Hurd has gotten so many yards in this O. It's always the same, delayed handoff to slow him down then drag everyone for 4 yards up the gut running play

Would have to be an improvement over Debord ... How can you do so little w that much talent ?

If I see Hurd going east west one more time ...

First down play calling has been dreadful.

You mean the play where we hand off to Hurd and he runs off tackle? Yeah, I could put a blind football team on defense and stop us on first down because that's what we run 90% of the time. Clawfense II!

We have an offensive coordinator who was out of the game for five years. No other head coach would hire. If you want to win games we need a consistent vertical passing game with explosive plays. You are not going to drive down the field every possession using the run game. Running controls the game, passing scores points.

Like I said. Worst move Butch has made and it isn't close.
Let's see, last year we broke the school record for rushing yards in a season in his first year. We have a QB who is a good runner but below average passer and a below average offensive line and you blame the play calling? Before the season is out Dormady will have to play. Nobody is scared of our passing game, they load the box so that we can't run it and our QB can't throw downfield.

A QB that is not a good passer and a 5 man O line getting beat by 3 D lineman forcing Dobbs to scramble or our backs to improvise and our double teams getting beaten by smaller quicker App players does not make being last night's TN team's coordinator an easy job. He is predictable but maybe because right now he has no other choice.

Number 1, Our line is garbage and Dobbs had to run for his life.
Number 2, Dobbs made bad reads.
Number 3, Ball security has to be a must
Number 4, because of all this we are the laughing stock of the nation. Just how I wanted to go into work today and celebrate. Thanks Deboring for running the same plays over and over and over again and about having a huge choke job happen!

Debord is way too predictable. And if Jones doesn't start getting into him about it he better get used to mediocrity.

It doesn't help that it looks like the RBs are hesitating every single run.

If I see a Hurd dive into the line for a one yard loss one more time Im gonna eat a Buick.
