DeBord is coming (merged)

You got it and thanks for the invite. Been on for a little while now but just mostly scroll through. Some of the comments and discussions are entertaining and keep me coming back. At times it can replace comedy central for me lol hey we are all fans of the greatest team so all in all its good

I see they ranked 10th in the PAC 12 in rushing offense and they also ranked 10th in rushing attempts, in a conference not known for great defenses.

Football Statistics | Pac-12

They were 5th nationally passing, 12 scoring, and 38th rushing averaging only twenty less rushing yards per game.
And by the way the pac 12 had a great year.
They like us are very young- 36 freshman and 42 newcomers. They played an abysmal schedule with 7 bowl eligible teams.
Young players with inferior talent ( per star counts) will effect your stats.
His total offense still beat us.
The guy can coach. Can you imagine if he had our horses?

Exactly where I'd expect an air raid offense to be. Like I said, I like the air raid complete with the sirens and I have been looking forward to the Mouse Davis movie that's been in production, seemingly, forever.

It doesn't matter what you or I imagine, it's reality and CBJ is not going to go that route, we have a defense, a good one, Cal, sh!&, look at the defensive rankings... and it's put into the worst kind of field position due to the offense. The first premise of that offensive philosophy is "You can't care about defensive statistics."

I stand correct on coaching against us that year, he was fired the week after. You are correct. He was hired in dec. he got to start coaching his new players in June which is indeed <6 mos. spread is very complex they didn't have time to implement it or the mobile linemen or qb to run it. How many oc get less than a season to implement? Point still stands
T

So he would be a good fit here only having <six months to teach his offense, terminology and fit into the UT culture all the while having none of his assistants with him? Color me confused by your argument.

So we could not find a guy who actually coached successful offensive football recently, what a joke.

The universe ends if there are two consecutive days of positivity on this board. I'm still basking in the glow of the life blood of the program being at a level unseen in two decades, but who cares about that?

You know there is like a 1 : 7.125 Billion chance that he is the best OC in the world. I'm not at all sure what the fuss is about. I mean your odds of winning the powerball are only 40 times greater than this guy actually working out.

Since you are psychic, can you tell me the winning lotto numbers for the next drawing? TIA

going to be the same offense. whether it was jbakajkian or debord they both were going to do what butch wants. In the end you cant be surprised by the hire. butch has shown in the past he hires who he knows he cant trust.

more of a payback for Deboard keeping Jones as OC @ CM

just using rumor and message board fodder as a basis, I think the DeBord hire was excellent.

CBJ obviously knew he was going to have DeBord on the staff before he was hired at UT.

He told DeBord to pass on any job other than UT.

DeBord said "OK" and spent the last two years putting students from Michigan in the Olympics while creating a spread offense that nobody besides Butch knew about.

This new and innovative offensive strategy will dazzle all football teams that should dare to play against it.

CBJ runs for president in 2016, citing DeBord's game changing offensive strategy and the U.S. defeats terrorism with the game plan of the century.

Iran and North Korea see the fire in Butch's eyes and finally give in to UN over site.

The Moon is actually made of cheese and every person on Earth has a grilled cheese during the Rose Bowl.

Mars is now officially referred to as the Orange Planet.

Go Vols!

I read this somewhere. I agree with all but two points. I'll let you decide what it is in which I disagree. Favorite part:the US defeats terrorism.
