Everyone acting like butthurt little kids because mom and dad didn't get them the toy they wanted for Christmas. My only question is who will be the QB coach......DOBBS?

This and the other DeBord/OC search threads are the exact reason Coach Jones made the decision to delay the announcement until after NSD.

Any other interviews were just cursory courtesy interviews and to show he did some due diligence. In reason to have all the negative chatter muddying the water.

Whether you think it right or not, that's your call. It wouldn't be the first time he's played that game and many will just say that is the way it's done.

Like Butch said we need the best fit. If Debord is the best fit so be it. What does everyone have against him? He has been in his profession for a long time and coached in the NFL and at Michigan for a reason.

if Debord can come in and have a seamless transition that will be best for our team. We don't need to regress two years into a rebuild and a new offense has the potential to do that. Play this hire safe and hire someone that you know is invested in you. Debord is going to give this his all and will try to help take his friend and former pupil to the top. A hotshot OC has the potential to even split the locker room if the new offense doesn't seem to be producing well or Butch tries to tinker with it. Obviously the big hire is always the most exciting and I would've been estatic if we got one but usually those hires don't seem to pan out.

Ya *****es will be sucking and licking DeBords toes by the end of next season. DeBord has been coaching longer than a lot of you sock gluer's have been alive. I think this is a great hire. Butch knows what he's getting. Butch knows that DeBord has a ton of offensive knowledge to impart on these young men. 58 years old is a great age. He's been around long enough to have been there and done that, still energetic to keep up with the Stones'es, and wise enough to groom the younger staff. Be grateful and quit whining. Coach DeBord is now a Vol.
