I was disappointed with the Butch hire. I'd say he's exceeded my expectations thus far.
I was disappointed with the Tyndall hire. He's DEFINITELY exceeded my expectations, though it's only been a few months.

Bajakian sucked, so I'm just like...eh, Debord, whatever. Just win some games.

It is quite pathetic that Butch is being bashed for a hire because you didn't want to be uncomfortable.

We settled makes it sound like you were involved in the decision-making process but were overruled. Instead a professional coach made what he felt was the proper decision for the team, a decision that will have far more impact on his life than yours if it is the wrong decision. Yet someone who has never been a coach and knows nothing about why Jones made the decision and what DeBord's ultimate role will be and what he actually brings to the table feels qualified to determine that the decision was a poor one.

The level of arrogance and self importance is very high.

If it's the same offense we are screwed regardless.
CMB showed flashes that the offense could be good and then it always seemed to fall flat. How do you think it'll do if butch has to take someone through it step by step game by game?

Many of you on VN hire people all the time - so how would you feel if the rest of VN questioned your hires? I trust that Butch understands the needs of his staff and players, and if you do too, than support him. If you don't trust our coach, Vandy could use some new fans.

feels like a gut punch, I hope coach knows what he is doing. I wonder why he postponed this announcement until after signing day. He has known this for sometime, if it is a good hire wouldn't that only boost the recruiting. We know debord wasn't tied up recruiting, unless it was for swimmers.

If he was so great and still so great, why isn't he coaching?

You have to ask that question

How come only Butch Jones is willing to bring him back from coaching oblivion and give him at shot as OC?

I'm pretty sure that before Mike Judge wrote Idiocracy he read VN for research. The similarities between the dialogue in that movie and a lot of posts on here are astounding.

Yeah, I'm gonna sit right here and be perfectly okay with hiring an OC with a 52-11 record, a national championship, and two conference titles along with hefty OL/TE coaching experience.

Volnation again suffering the effects of Shaken Baby Syndrome. Well....its was a nice, happy, unified 24 hours.

As wrong as I was about the Butch Jones hire....I'm certainly going to defer to him on this hire. I believe time will show this to be the first of a couple of really good moves by Butch.

Is it my fault that im voicing my displeasure with the hire and that I have the right to do so?

Is it my fault that if he was going to roll the dice anyway why not hire someone who's relevant to the game and not someone who's been sitting in a dark basement overseeing swimming.
