There's no reason not to trust Butch at this point. We didn't like the Jancek and Martinez hires, but those have panned out thus far. We didn't believe Butch could recruit in the SEC and boy were we wrong. He's earned my trust.

I've often wondered for years if the secret to Cutcliffe's success for so long has been attention to detail, execution, and consistency. I don't remember being blown away be creativity and new wrinkles with his UT offenses. Instead, we had great players and they went out and did their jobs very well and very consistently. When you do that, you don't have to get cute.

I wondered if Butch is looking for someone who brings that more so than someone who brings a ton of new wrinkles, because we're about to have a team that can line and kick butt without having to resort to razzle-dazzle.

Gary pattersons philosophy stopped being as effective and he got out of his comfort zone to make a change. Ended up being a great offense this yr. Sometimes loyalty can sting you. Butch just doesn't want to be uncomfortable. Our current offense barely works as it is.
