Debord first game score card

Hobbs did about what I thought he would. He is not a great passer and I doubt he ever will be one. His running ability really helps the other backs and opens up the short passes over the middle to the TEs. If we have to pass the ball to win, we may have to look to Dormady.

As far as CD's grade, it has to be pretty good when you gain over 600 yards and score 59 points. It surely beats anything we put up over the past two years.

Dobbs was 15-22 (with 2 drops) for 205 yds and 2tds and no ints...QB rating of 176. What the hell do you guys wants from him??

At this point, I'm beginning to believe that if any other QB in the country, any QB not named Joshua Dobbs had put up those numbers, that a large part of Volnation would push that guy for the Heisman. But it was Dobbs so, "he just ain't a good passer and never will be".....

And for the record, Dormady, who I'm very high on, was 0-1 in garbage time tonite....but he's the guy you want behind center if we need to throw the ball? Unreal.

Coach Debord coached better than Jake B. Would have. We only ran 2 WR runs. We established a run game.Thomas didn't play tackle (thank god).We tried hitting a few downfield passes to Williams and still gotta Remember we were keeping it Vanilla.

Our Offense hummed today. We had the most rushing yards in 21 years, and Dobbs downfield passing looked much better but yeah Debord sucks

Not impressed.
Dobbs has taken a step back. Doesn't read defenses well. If you can't move the ball down the field with a 5star and four 4 star WRs against this defense, you got issues.

We scored 59 points, had 604 total yards (399 of which were on the ground), and had 0 turnovers. I know it's just Bowling Green, but if you're going to whine about the offense today then you must be an all around miserable person to be around. Debord did fine today.

Well, the way i see it, if 59 points is not satisfactory, your not very astute football wise. You'd better be more worried about the defense's ability to cover the tight end.

OP is blind. We had 8 TD drives under 2 mins, Dobbs had a 68% completion percentage, 2 TDs passing (should have been 3, except for hold by Johnson), 1 rushing. So, 225 (adding the 3rd TD) in the air, 89 on the ground.

Hurd and Kamara combined for nearly 275 yards rushing, 4 TDs (or 5 maybe).

We scored 59 points, highest in 6 years, while missing our lead receiver from last season due to suspension.

THE OLINE LOOKED WAAAAYYYY BETTER than they did against similar opponents last season (remember the UTC game?)

The play-calling was vanilla for 2 reasons; Our defense couldn't stop a baby with bulldozer, and we actually have some really good defenses to play coming up and he didnt want to hand them our playbook.

Don't be so dang naive. If you could do better, you'd be out celebrating with your team instead of whining on the interwebs.

Conclusion: A- for Debord

The points are fine. But when you consider starting field position it's really not impressive. Line has lacked push and Hurd looks slow.

had to be missing blue font. had to...

I actually laughed bc i was waiting for an lol or hahaha...

you cant be serious?!

He's the THUNDER in thunder and lightning. I think the point is he's the power runner. If you're complaining about Hurd, you really are an idiot.

This thread makes me sad, Dobbs looked great on his throws, Incorporated the tight end, O-line did a great job run blocking and we showed a power running game for the first time in years. 8 touchdowns, 2 called back, and guys are critical of the offense. Pathetic man, just be happy for once

A+ The offense was money all day. While barely cracking open the playbook. Can't wait to see them full throttle!

OP is stoned. Offense A- Defense c-. I do believe that BG's offense is pretty damn good. Those long throws they made in the first half were accurate as hell, many times with one of our defenders in pretty good coverage. Now, they certainly had a few wide open, but many were nice throws with UT having pretty good coverage.

That's an insult to stoners. Pots don't make people go this full retard.

This 100%. We ran the ball far better than we have in many many years. I have not seen the stats but how may more runs did we have vs pass attempts?

Dobbs wasnt amazing, but he didnt need to be. I have watched almost all the games this weekend, and not may of the Top 25 qbs have been "amazing".

64 rushing attempts for 399 yards and 6 touchdowns versus 23 pass attempts for 205 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Grade: A

Would have liked to see a couple dep balls but we were vanilla today.

One play call I didn't like was the third and three after the called back TD. Swing screen in short yardage. I don't like limiting Dobbs like that,

Other than that, great job.

Very good improvement of the offensive line play. I am perplexed by our lack of passing production. North never had a ball thrown his way, very head scratching. DeBord may be too Old school for my taste. We obviously have the weapons, if I compared Kiffin as an off. coordinator versus DeBord it is not a fair fight. Unlike some I thought Dobb's had an A- game. No picks, 2 TD passes, 89 yards rushing and over 200 yards passing. Pretty damn good night for any QB.

The Johnson kid may just be the best QB we face all year.
That was my thought as well. This is not a jab at Bowling Green, but I kept wondering how a guy with that much talent was overlooked by the bigger name programs.

Dormady's lone pass hit Stockstill in the hands. He had a blocker right in front of him. Could have been an "accidental" touchdown.

Fifth year senior...give some kids enough time to develop and be available for a surprise.
