Offense: Solid - 42 pts in 2.5 quarters, however, must recognize that the BGSU D is not elite.
O-Line: solid to dominate - winning the match-up. Providing running lanes and protection, even providing secondary level support. However, BGSU D-line is much less than the balance of the schedule.
WR: average. Not seeing the separation on the wide-outs, but the slot/TE are doing well. Think the mid-field is open due to play call. The w/r are doing well blocking downfield. Would expect the play-action to be devastating with the running game.
RB: excellent: This is a tough duo. Interesting in the pass-catching from the two RB's.
Defense: 27 pts in 2.5 quarters Recognize that the BGSU O is good. Really like the play structures as it forces reads and late reactions from the D
D-Line: average to solid: BGSU line is really pretty good and cohesive. Even with that, the D-Line is close, but not really applying pressure with the plain packages, requiring more coverage time. BGSU plays are really good - run/pass option, with an outlet. Tough to defend and hold the reading positions (DE / LB / Safety), force reactions rather pressing.
LB: average at best: Several packages, but the focus is passing, rather than run support. Seems slows, but likely tied to the reads.
DB: WORK: Issues are tied to the front 7 and scheme, combined with a gambling mentality (closing speed). Credit the BGSU play to isolate and hold the safeties, stopping any coverage support.
