Kinda based off agreeing with you, here is my take.
The longer the qoute, the more I pay attention.
If it's " Great guy, great hire" I don't look twice.
If they go slightly deeper and point to anything specific, I pay a little more attention.
Just a guess. They were asked to say something. They didn't call up the KNS on their own accord just to praise the hire. If asked, you're not going to cause a scene by saying no comment or something negative. You never know when your paths might cross again.
I've been here 8 1/2 years. 20k is nothing given the timeframe. I've posted substance before that post and after it.
We are "impressed" with your resume and appreciate your many years of substantial posting. We are in awe of your keyboard awesomeness and sharp intellect.
What I've learned from your posts in this thread, in summary ... (1) you don't think DeBord was a good hire and you take exception to those that do (assume that includes CBJ), (2) you like to make fun of those that do not have high post counts, especially when they use  more that once in a post, and (3) you enjoy "debating".
Michigan 2006
Rushing Offense: 18th in the nation
Play Distribution: 38% (25.2 per game) pass to 62% (41.2 per game) run
Turnovers: 2nd fewest in the nation at .9 per game
2007 wasn't as great due to injuries to Chad Henne (Ryan Mallet played as a true freshman in his place) and RB Michael Hart. At one point their starting RB was a sophomore, their qb and a freshmen, and they had two starters on the offensive line who were freshmen.
Michigan 2007
Rushing Offense: 53rd
Play Distribution: 44% (32.5 per game) pass 56% (41.5) rush
Turnovers: 78th

wow. You only got one thing right. It has absolutely nothing to do with post counts. I never once brought it up. You decided to. A poster made a post that didn't bring any facts or points to the conversation, so I called him out and you had to start whining like a little b**** about it. Grow up "Poppa"
I don't understand the purpose of DeBord--is he supposed to be a real OC or is he just an "honorary" coach--Butch paying back an old debt?
I think if it was clear as to Debord's role, people would handle the hire better...just telling others to trust Butch is not going to cut it. People said Trust Kiffin, Trust Dooley.
Anyone with actual inside information want to share the thinking behind this hire?
Google it if I'm so ignorant. Show me what a "power" I formation is.
I'll give you a hint, you can only run it out of 30 personnel groups (30, 31, 32)
Edit: hell, I'll do it for you.
