Instead of having a WR coach, we could just start having the lowest graded WR each week face JJ in the Circle on Monday. It would save the AD 300K and open up An extra coaching spot.

I remember in 2005 when Fulmer took over play calling vs Notre Dame. Was best offensive game that year. I wish Butch had the balls to take over play calling himself. Of course, he would likely get exposed for being a fraud of an "offensive mind."

For those saying who would jump on this train....
Tony Franklin!
He is at MTSU!
I can't fathom he wouldn't like to prove his metal making a offensive comeback with the talent on our roster.

How about getting the guy that calls plays for Maryville High. I am sure he could do better than what is going on now.

I was flipping thru Twitter and saw a fan page that said that when Debord was hired it was on a two year contract if that's the case then his contract would be up at the end of this season.

Regardless surely Butch knows he HAS to make offensive changes. Let's be honest, everyone is clamoring for Butch to be fired but we all know he's not going anywhere. However what is realistic and should happen is staff changes.

Having said that. What are some candidates you would like for what positions...

OC...
OLC...
QBC...
Etc...

its a good idea to ignore twitter.

Butch gave Mike another year and a raise after the bowl game in Tampa. His contract now runs through February 2018

I agree that DeBord needs to go. As far as QB coach, I would see what Peyton's interest is. I know this will ruffle some but I'm glad Dobbs will be gone. I believe Guarantano will be a much better passer and equally as good at running the ball.

I completely agree with you. Dobb's is a great and intelligent kid and represents what is great about college football. But at the end of the day it's about producing and winning games. We may be in the minority but I will also be glad to see Josh gone. He just hasn't developed and to be a senior he makes way too many freshman mistakes or mistakes made by guys who have played very little college football. I am very excited to see Guarantano play.

U are nuts. He will let debord go to save his job quicker than a blink of an eye

He's been wrong before about stuff like that.

And he's wrong this time. Debord is gone after Vandy.

But the problem is still Butch Jones.

This fear of success he's infected within the program.

"To young "
"Still to young a year later"
"Never been across country"
"A lot work to do"
" learn how to finish"
Et cetera

An OC that wants to boost his resume by reviving a offense that has tons of talent and potential but is underperforming.

This.

What OC wouldn't want to come here with the boatloads of talent we have on offense? This isn't like it was in 2013 when we had a depleted roster. We have 3 highly recruited young QBs on the roster next season. We have some immensely talented WRs. We have depth at every position.

People were saying the same thing about Dabo Swinney in 2010. He was coming off a 6-7 season, but he had lots of talent on the roster. He brought in Chad Morris and quickly turned the team into a championship contender within a few years.

If you're an innovative young OC, this is absolutely a perfect situation.

Go get Kendall Briles.

The question is would CBJ let a top tier OC take the reigns and CBJ just have oversight even if presented with a new failproof offensive scheme? I think not honestly.

As of now a number of pundits are calling out coaching mistakes and especially the play calling of Debord as the problem at tennessee. It's a national news topic.
This will be used against us and hurt us in recruiting.
If Debord is retained we will be hurt in recruiting and on the field.
I honestly don't think butch has a choice at this point.
