Mike & Mike went to commercial so I flipped over to see what those jokers (Heather, Jeff and Dearstone) were talking about.

Apparently Dearstone is making it public he's upset Kiffin denied the Sports Animal an interview but gave one to Jim Rome.

The only caller I heard told Dearstone he's been spending too much time with the Lady Vols because he's sounds like a girl that got stood up at prom.

Mickey is pathetic and this really makes me like Kiffin so much more that he put these people in their proper place.

Yeah it is pretty sad. He sounds upset that he was not the first to interview Kiffin. Dearstone keeps talking about how Kiffin is doing national shows and not the flagship station. Who cares Dearstone?

While Dearstone can irritate the hell out of me one would think that the biggest local sports station could get an interview with the new head football coach.

That guy really can make a somewhat reasonable observation seem whiney though.

Maybe there is a reason why Kiffin isn't doing that show... :)

And just think of the irony of that... Dearstone dropped Jim Rome in September.

Actually that wasn't ironic. That came up and he said they couldn't sell local advertising for Rome. Whatever you think of Dearstone that is a completely legit reason.

I would rather CLK do national shows and get UT football back relevant. Jimmy Hyams and MD need to give it up .

I was listening earlier. He DOES sound like a angst-filled teenage girl in how he is complaining about this. There is some lack of hubrice or clear understanding of the Sports Animal's true place in the hierarchy of media. I don't agree with him that the local market is more important than the national one for Lane.

I think national media is important to Lane right now as a recruiting tool. I will say, regardless of what anyone's personal opinion of Dearstone et al may be, I'm not sure dissing the hometown guys makes sense to me. This is in stark contrast to the Pearl approach for example.

In the end I'm of the "Just win baby" crowd.

I totally understand why he would diss this group of "hometown guys". I wouldn't interview with those guys either.

The show has gotten unbearable this morning, I tuned the morning show out for 3 months, and about 2 weeks ago gave it another shot. Guess that is over. MD and JJ moping about an interview has went on for 5 segments. How many times has Will spoke this morning? ZERO.

Then MD agrees with a caller that Hooker and the sports page are negative?
wow....

What can you do over there when the worst personality on the radio is also the boss? to whom do we complain?

Did you guys hear the one man who called in, and said that 10-3 was the worst show he ever heard, and he just turned the radio off every morning with Micky and Jeff went off the air?

I about choked on my biscuit when I heard that.

Exactly, he is in the middle of recruiting. Does it make more sense to do a show that all possible recruits would hear or do a local show none of them will? There will be plenty of time to talk to the local people when the class is done. Until then deal with it.

If I were Kiffin, I wouldn't give two (fill in what you'd like here) what anyone on that station wanted. He was dogged pretty hard the week or two prior to be hiring by some on there.
