Great point! I think a better description would be "Moronic fans with irrationally high expectations for a staff and team that is working around depth problems, injuries and distractions during the first year of rebuilding."

I see a team this year that has played well in every game up to this one. Last few years, today would be the norm. I say one game does not judge a team or coach's season. These guys have played their butts off this season, and with everything going on this week give the team and coaches a break.

Yes they are rebuilding...and if you heard what the national media was saying at the begining of the season I think CLK, his staff, and the team have exceeded expectations. Remember how you felt last season at this time.

I know one thing, I have placed so many fair weather fans on ignore that the board seems slow. It is refreshing in a way not having to see grown men cry and pitch a hissy fit like a 2 yr old.

It is every bit as pathetic to bash others who actually care that the team lost to feel better about yourselves. Most of the reaction is over the top. That includes this entire thread. I'd say the expectation that Tennessee could hang around and possibly win a game against Ole Miss was not unreasonable at all. That is something the Vols have shown us they can do and most fans have come to expect that from this staff. This is their first blowout loss. It is a major disappointment. Some bash the team, some bash the coaches and some bash other fans. To call any of these groups, as a whole, morons is quite ironic. They all have a point to some degree... I'll stick with the distraction theory. Three arrests can throw off some priorities.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I get the feeling that some Vol fans think they are "entitled" to watch their team win. NO! The players practice and play and the coaches coach. The fans are only spectators. Those young men are the ones who put in the work, not you. You guys lost. Guess what, half of the teams lost today.

It's easy to say good post, but I really don't think this needs to be said - I really get tired of the 10,000 posts of "get off the train now if you're not fully into it." One should suffice. At the same time, I don't care for fairweather fans but I'd much rather talk about the team than other people who talk about the team.

I was just thinking the same thing. You just know that those fans that bash and bail now will be back to enjoy the good years. That's just so wrong.:frown:

How much respect were you feeling this time last year when we were 3-7? If you bet on the Vols that is your own fault, never bet on your team, it becomes much more personal.

i love the Vols in all kind of weather,but it does make me mad when our D plays like it did today.and im sure the players are not happy about it either.and im not going on any forum and bash them over a bad game or season.Go Vols beat Vandy.

I have not been a regular very long, but what I get tired of is the people who criticize the coaches. First, it is the easiest thing to do. You are doing it after the game, and they are trying to coach during the game. Hindsight is always 20/20. Second, who knows if they told the players to line up correctly and they just did not do what they were told. I trust Monte to tell them where to be more than I do a MLB that is starting his 2nd game to actually do what he was told. I am not bashing the young man, but if you have to pick one or the other, I'll take coaches over players.

Im more excited this time this year than I was at this time last year, but I still loved and supported them last year. Im a true big orange fan even when we lose some.

Fair Weather? Explain this? We got our asses handed to us yesterday and regardless of who's coaching a loss is a loss.
