Kirk Herbstreit? Booger McFarland?

If your small son had been raped by Sandusky, and Shiano ALLEGEDLY could have spoken up and prevented it, would you want your Alma Mater to hire Schiano as head coach, if there were any chance whatsoever that Schiano cared more about his coaching position at Penn State than preventing child rape?

Just answer, Yes or No.

You wouldn't want your alma mater to hire him, but it's easy to throw stones when it's not Ohio State, right Herbie, when it's not LSU, right Booger?

The Volunteer fan base would have griped about hiring Mike Houston. We would've grumbled about hiring Neal Brown. That's what any fan base in our situation would do, but that's as far as it would have gone. We were prepared for a let down. Dooley wasn't a home run. Neither was Butch Jones. We know we're no longer an elite program. We are the worst team in the SEC. You've taken great joy in reminding us of that all day long.

Protesting the Schiano hire had nothing to do with wins and losses for most Vols fans. We wouldn't want Saban himself if Saban were permanently stained by allegations of a child rape cover-up.

I hope everyone remembers, never forget, that Kirk Herbstreit and Booger McFarland and ESPN support those who allegedly enable child rapists.

I'm not a Donald Trump supporter in any way, shape, or form. I did not vote for him. However, he gave us a blueprint for how to fight back against these people. They may control the mainstream media, but they don't control social media. Link ESPN, Kirk Herbstreit, and Booger McFarland to Sandusky, Paterno, Schiano, Penn State, the coverup, and ultimately the brutal rape of children that occurred at Penn State, and they will back the hell off. ESPN won't even say child rape. They want to sanitize if by saying Schiano was present during "the Penn State situation".

First, the Washington Post article had not been published when Shiano was hired at OSU. This is the first time he has been hired since it was made known that he might have seen Sandusky in the shower with a child.

Second, he was not hired at OSU as head coach. There's a big difference. He is not the face of the program.

Sort of with the OP on this. I wouldn’t want to mess with the red flag or have my organization represented by someone with this type of red flag. Posted this earlier in a thread, my problem is with Admin not seeing the bigger picture or how this could be a potential problem. Why risk it? Dude may be innocent, but not worth the fight.

Are you serious? I don't want the guy mopping the floor associated with that. Definitely don't want a coach in any position associated with that.

The point I am making is that...I don't think OSU would have hired Schinao either if the Washington Post article had already been published. Shiano has not been hired by anyone since it became known that he might have been able to prevent other children from being raped if he had spoken up about what he saw that allegedly caused him to turn as white as a ghost. The only caveat to the above is that Urban Meyer also provided refuge for serial killer, Aaron Hernandez, so you are talking about the lowest of the low when it comes to morality.

ESPN are utter hypocrites. When the Sandusky scandal first broke, they were all out to condemn anyone who had knowledge and didn't do enough. But now that there is a chance to denigrate UT fans, all of a sudden, they are sure Schiano was a squeaky clean.

Just about every pundit they employ, from Chris Low to Steven A. Smith is trying desperately to dishonestly spin this that UT fans were just upset that we didn't hire Gruden. It's utterly absurd that they try to hide the serious ethical questions here. Even the White House Press Secretary criticized the hire. Was she also just disappointed they didn't hire Gruden?

I am not against what the OP is saying.

However we really don't even need to bring it up.......what ESPN and all other media outlets are doing to Tennessee and Vol fans is simply horrible and unjust.

A few........very few people did anything as to what they are accusing ALL Vol fans of doing. They should be ashamed of the way they are treating us........forget Greg the only reason this is a big deal for Greg is because the media made it so.........therefore they could go after Tennessee and all Vol fans........because Tennessee sells and bashing Tennessee may sell even more.

Bottom line is that Schinaos record is not any better than Butch. Whether or not he knew or did not know about Sandusky will always be a loud over his head.So why bring that in.

All of these "pundits" such as Booger, Herbie, and Steven A are CAA (Sexton) clients...hmmm..

I’ve been listening to and watching a lot of shows on SEC and ESPN and like we’ve been discussing we’re getting bashed for doing the right thing. Totally frustrating, but you’d expect nothing else from ESPN. One thing I’ve found interesting is that a lot of them are talking about how Schiano would have been a great hire for us, but then they discuss other coaching vacancies and the lists of potential candidates for those and Schiano is never mentioned on any of them. Why is it that he was only a fit for UT? Has anyone seen his name mentioned for any other job?

This fan base was lead to believe we were getting a proven winner with HC experience to back it up. Forget the Penn State plague.....he was not what we wanted.....he was and is a square peg in a round hole fit here........and for once in this world driven by the big money folks......the lil folks grabbed their pitch forks and torches and ran out Frankenstein’s monster.

Herbstreit, Mark Packer, Tuberville, and all their cronies at ESPN can suck it. And as for the Penn State Jerry Sandusky sins.....there was way to much smoke there to be no fire for him to have not known either way....vented or not. And Herbstreit and your smart ass ESPN chumps...if it is that simple to turn your head the other way for you...then call Casey Anthony when you need a babysitter.
