We lost the game by 10 points. That is two scores. Tony Hunt (PSU RB) pretty much called our defense a bunch of girls. He specifically said the "didn't want to tackle [him]".
Oh, you mean regardless. My bad.Reguardless of when or how many games.....He will always be known as "Arian Dribble the Ball Foster" in my book. And you can defend the kid all you want but his fumbles have been costly. It might not have been the full reason we lost the game but when your team is on a come back and you need a touchdown and you turn the ball over (Penn State)and it gets taken to the house that is a game killer!! And against Florida when the momentum had def shifted our way and he dribbles the ball into the Florida players hands and they walk in for 6. And again in the Auburn game that Fumble is on Foster as well you look at that play again and Crompton put it on the numbers reguardless of where Cromptons eyes where it was there Foster did not have his arm high enough and it hit him in the elbow. And again another 6 points. So when you think about all his fumbles have you thought that a lot of them have resulted in a touchdown?? Its not like a little fumble and they got a field goal or ran some clock out and we got the ball back....They almost all have cost us points so no matter what record Foster Breaks he will always be known as a fumbler to me!
How many games can you really think of where Arian Foster cost us the game? He has had some big fumbles, but I can't think of a single one that we shouldn't have been able to overcome.
Here's my take on AF. After getting an incredibly high, and I'd venture to say unexpected, NFL draft rating last season he could've left UTK and drawn a big signing bonus along with a nice contract. Putting aside how long he might have lasted in the NFL, he could've made some big money by moving on. But he didn't. Instead, AF returned to UTK with a new position coach and a new offensive coordinator coupled with the knowledge that some fans blame him for losses due to the previosuly discussed fumbles and the knowledge that Hardesty and Creer would push for playing time. Unlike some of the Vol players this season, when AF is involved in a play where he makes a mistake I do not seem him smirking or pointing fingers. I do think AF gives his all for Tennessee when he takes the field and that is about all that I can ask.
if giving your all is screwing up then who cares. Again name another tn player in history who has been around so many bonehead plays. no one can. they keep bringing up he stuck around for a year, lets be clear he stuck around another year to improve his stock. nothing wrong with that but lets not pretend he is bleeding orange.
South Carolina 05, Penn State 06, UCLA 08, and Auburn 08. I could have picked more but those are games I know he cost us on his fumbles.
That is why I have a hard time with all the vitriol spewed about him.Unlike some of the Vol players this season, when AF is involved in a play where he makes a mistake I do not seem him smirking or pointing fingers. I do think AF gives his all for Tennessee when he takes the field and that is about all that I can ask.
We are killing each other over this.
To the guys who support foster like kptvol i respect your allegiance to a ut player. I just think most ut fans are going to look back on his career and be disappointed. I dont really think there is anything he can do to change that.
