DC's for hypothetical HC

Alright lets see where we stand. Seems like a lot of talk is being thrown around about Miles and Martin coming. So lets just assume they do. Who does everyone want as a DC? I also know that Steeles name has been mentioned as well. But for fun, lets say he stays since it looks like Gus is staying at Auburn. Here is my top 5 in no particular order.

Don Brown- Michigan DC
Jim Leonhard- Wisconsin
Pete Kwiatkowski Washington
Manny Diaz- Miami
Brett Venables- Clemson

What makes you think anyone of this coaches would want to come to Tennessee? Because as we have seen top coaches are beating the door down to come to come here.

With this craziness why don't we see if we can raise Buddy Ryan from the dead. Seems he did an ok job with the '85 Bears. I would think at least half of the fan base would pleased with him.

Why would Venables leave a team playing for a possible national championship for a program that’s a disaster right now for the same position?

People don't remember that Venables was pretty much told by Stoops to move along from Oklahoma. As impressive as Clemson's defense is, I don't want to get into another situation like we did with Bob Shoop. He looked dynamite at Penn St. He comes here and lays an egg and Penn St. continues to dominate on defense. I get the feeling the same would happen if Venables was to come here as HC.

I can't see Foster ever leaving Tech.

Can't see Venebles or Pruit leaving for the same position in a worse situation.

Still, I would definitely try before going after a guy like Steele and please, for the love of God, keep Chavis away.

Chavis, Hoke, Shoop - Steele may stay at Auburn now that Gus got the big payday. Sunseri will not get the call.
