I've heard lots of talk down here in GA about Rodney Gardner leaving GA to join Dooley as his DC. Yet, I have seen no mention of it here on VolNation. Anyone up there know anything?

A lot of people on here are saying Lance Thompson and Rodney Garner could be named co-defensive coordinators, but I think we have a really good shot at getting Garner this go around.

Why would we put Garner at DC if Richt didn't want him as DC as bad as their d was ? I wold love to have him as a position coach and rec coord but not DC. We need a proven DC.

I really hope it is LT myself. What he has done with keeping this class togather is nothing short of amazing....:hi:

Heard he went to UGA becase he and his wife had family down there. haven't heard anything official up here, but he's a fan favorite for sure......in any coaching position.

While I like and respect Garner..I don't think CDD offers him a job. Same with Trooper Taylor. It seems he is wanting to build some stability...and as most of us have noted these guys seem to move around alot.

Please no, I want an aggressive DC that will blitz and not sit his DB's back 15 to 20 yards off the line of scrimmage!

Put LT in the DC spot, and get Al Wilson to come on and be our Linebackers coach.

Don't get me wrong, I agree with your assessment of Chavis, but I was wondering if his name would come up.

Although, if we had done as you mentioned, we wouldn't have given that big play up before halftime of the bowl game.

From what I've heard down here, everything was fine with RG's job. However, he & his wife had twins last year and she's been on his a$$ because of the amount of traveling he's had to do. They've already raised one set o' kids, now they have twins and the situation has changed. She's ridin' him pretty hard to take a job that requires less time on the road recruiting.

Chavis blitzes a ton. I want a DC that's able to see what the offense is doing and adjust accordingly. If it's blitz, if it's zone, 4-3, 3-4, whatever. As long as it keeps the other team out of the end zone I'll be happy.

Then this would not be the job for him.

He is bringing Spangler as DC (Garner would coach D-line and RC,if he came) Spangler up and coming Defensive Guru. Thompson can coach LB's and recruit!
