800 K/yr. is a big bump from what he is making now. But it makes sense for him to use this interview to force Saban's hand. I just hope DD has a reasonable fall back position. It seems like it would be Green then, who might be just fine, but doesn't have much sizzle.

Why wouldn't he stay? His kid is there. Smart will get a hc job soon, leaving SS as the prime candidate for the Bama DC job. Seems like an easy choice for him.

This is how it has looked from the beginning except that the money offered would amount to a substantial raise.

the longer this goes the bigger hits our recruiting class is gonna take. dooley i truely believe is done for.

auburn reportedly just gave their new DC $850,000 and they are a year removed from an NC. we may have to really blow the market prices away to get a so-called splash hire in our current situation.
