DC Candidates?

So let me get this straight.... We bring in Shoop and he brings in Josh Gattis (WR Coach) and Jim Haslett (LB Coach/Defensive Consultant) and we lose Thig and WM? Why would we not lose Thig and CZA since Gattis coaches WR's? I love the idea of Shoop, but I hate the idea of losing Thig. He's a great recruiter and a good LB coach as well. Is there anyway we could keep Thig or have Haslett move into his same consultant role? Just curious

Haslett is an upgrade over Thig.....and a pretty significant one.

By no means am I saying that. As a coach he's an upgrade, but what about recruiting? Thig is one of the best out there and one of the few that can bring good recruiting and good coaching. Can Haslett recruit anywhere near Thig or better?

Me either... By looking at the development of Kirkland, JRM, and add in his recruiting, Thig is hard to beat.

Thig's recruiting ranking has dropped big time. For whatever reason he us not pulling the stars in he did his first year at UT. I noticed on one of the sites that ranks recruiters, UT had like 5-6 coaches who rated better than Thig did. Times change.

This is my thought exactly. Thig has proven he can recruit. Now he's proving his worth as a coach with the development of JRM, Kirkland, and even to a certain extent AJ and Maggitt.

Go blown out by MSU, Mich.,OSU,and lost to NW a team we destroyed, UGA whom we beat, and Temple. There is his body of work. So how is this an upgrade from jancek? Jancek D held NW to 6 points and 261 total yrds. If you play in B1G he's might be an ok DC.
