I know it's all speculation and there are no guarantees, but just for fun, what's your prediction for when the new "Minister of Defense" will be ordained?

Could our beloved Derek Barnett eclipse Saint Reggie's sack record against Missouri or do you think it will be against the 'Dores?

I predict at least one sack against the Tigers Sat. and wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he gets all 3 sometime before the final whistle. Even if he doesn't, what a career, what a legacy and what great legends we were graced to see wear the orange and white.

:salute:

Reggie was an ordained minister, hence the nickname.

Let's give him a name that will strike fear into the hearts of offensive tackles and QBs alike. I know, how about this: Derek Barnett.

Go Vols!

The comparison of Reggie White wasn't for you to stumble over the name or imply he was taking his place. It's just a turn of phrase as a way to honor both because Derek Barnett will be the new all time leader in sacks if he gets three more, whereas Reggie White is the current leader.

I never proposed a new nickname or asked what anyone thought about a name.

The question is just for fun for you to guess when you think Derek Barnett could become the new sack leader with 3 more sacks.

I'll use the feedback as a cue to keep it simpler/clearer next time considering no one but me has said they think he could do it as early as next game.

One got close with a score prediction, but not sacks.

So I take the blame for the miscommunication and will do better next time. :eek:lol:

Go VOLS!

It's going to be tough for him the next two games because he will be double teamed on just about every play. He was triple teamed a few times against Kentucky, which opened up Vereen to get a few sacks. He may break the record in the SECCG. I hope he gets five sacks against Mizzou though.

I love Barnnett, but Reggie White was basically a sentient missile in the body of a divine hippopotamus.

A very strange but very apt description, I love it.

How about Derek Barnett, New All-Time UT QB Sack Leader.

"Sack Leader" alone doesn't sound right.

I seem to remember when he first got here the players knew he was something special. I think the name I saw they called him was "WONDER BOY". He isn't a boy anymore. Personally I think since we had "The Sheriff" Barnett should be "The Bailiff"
