Posed this question in another thread but I think after the big injury it deserves its own.

What’s the depth chart now in what’s a pretty thin secondary:

RCB:
LCB:
STAR:
SS:
FS:

RCB: Gibson

STAR: Jakobe Thomase
SS: Will Brooks

Knowing our staff, it is highly unlikely they’ll start Boo, especially since they let Doneko Slaughter, Wesley Walker, GJL and McCollough start over some of the other guys in the secondary

Corner : Ricky Gibson, Jalen McMurray
Corner: Jermod McCoy, Jordan Mathews
Star: Christian Charles or Boo Carter, Christian Harrison
Safety: Jakobe Thomas, Christian Charles or John Slaughter
Safety: Andre Turrentine, William Wright or Christian Charles again, Will Brooks

A lot of guys I like that I can’t imagine playing a huge roll especially early in the year

Examples: Edrees Farooq, Kaleb Beasley, Marcus Goree

I think this one is most likely so far.

Brooks already started at S in the last game last year vs Vandy, and played nearly all of the 2nd to last game vs UGA.

Don’t know about starting, but he could be in at S again, especially early season if some younger more athletic guys are still in learning mode.

Really hope & pray they can stay healthy from here, and come on youngsters!

Hoping our DL / LBs can get some good pressure on the QB.

If not, we're looking at a bunch of 52-49 games against high-octane offensive teams.

It’s in Charles’s season right now. Football always throws curve balls. And now all the setbacks during Charles early career have put him here right now to gain a starting spot on the most talented defense we’ve had since Heupel got here.

Boo Carter will definitely factor in and maybe start, but Christian Charles will lead this group.

RCB - Gibson, McMurray, Wright, Goree
LCB- McCoy , Matthews , Beasley
STAR- Charles , Carter, Harrison
SS- Jak Thomas, J Slaughter, Harrison
FS- Turrentine , Carter, Brooks, Farooq

Harrison could be a nice answer for depth at safety and STAR

This lineup is still twice is good as anything we’ve had since Heupel has been here.

We’re not that thin and mind you this DB unit is playing with the best pass rushing Dline, and very good LBs

I won't be shocked to see Jalen McMurray or Jordan Matthews slide over to star as well. I also won't be shocked to see Carter start.

We're pretty thin in the secondary now. Thomas was probably the guy I felt the 2nd most confident in behind Turrentine.

Man it’s hard enough to be confident in this secondary as it is. I just keep having to remind myself that the ball should never get that far with our DL and LB blocking the way.
I really hope that this group has heard all the negativity and vitriol thrown their way over the past year and they play with their hair on fire and shut everybody up. GBO
