I dont know if its me, or what, but the board looks and feels slow and down today. Normally this place is rocking with guys and gals going after each other and a ton of hype and hoopla about how the Vols are going to burn down somebody elses barn. I will put aside the obvious though. Im not asking for the "Fulmer sucks" or "Carolina is going to (blank)" comments as they are all too often posted. Many times in similiar fashion. I dont care who the best neck car driver is and I am surprised it has stayed on the "most recent list" pretty much all day. Its a day before the game guys. What the hell is up? Remember, this is not a pep ralley thread starter, but my lord, do yall have a pulse. Hell, I even tried to get some of your opinon as far as the rest of the top 25. If you didnt want to be a "negavol" or a "Vols still have a shot at the ______", or my new favorite, "Ainge for Heisman" thats cool, but man......do we really have that little to discuss? Are yall just awaiting something bad to happen? Hasnt all that already ran its course in here? I dont know. Maybe Im an idiot, but it feels dead in here today. Anyone?................crickets............

Was prety hot before Cal, Florida, UGA, and 'bama. I really do think its the state of the program. When you just don't feel like its a big game, not as many people are going to make the effort.

yup, and thats why we are talking about Bill Clinton popping off at some hicks in Minn., neck car, Ainge for Heisman, and what color some guys shoes are. (refrence yesterday). What the hell? There will be football tommorrow. There will be football without Fulmer. There will be football untill d@#N near Feb.

To extend the Clinton discussion, I feel your pain.

Its sad, really. I was looking forward to Spurrier threads left and right. The only discussion of him today is that he's likely going to provide the proverbial nail in Fulmer's coaching coffin.

Im a sports fan and I have really, really enjoyed visiting with some quick witted guys and girls in here about sports, but today is damn dissappointing. I know I can just shut it off, and if Pj were here, Im sure he'd tell me to, but I just keep waiting to see if it will pick up. No offense fellas, just stating the obvious. We have reached a new low when we are not even remotely hyped up for a game against the Visor. But I digress, lets discuss Hillary. Maybe that is more important. (and if you cant recognize sarcasam), Im kidding!

One week ago today, when I found out I had tickets to the UT-USC game, I was ecstatic. At that time, SC was #6 in the nation with an easy upcoming game against Vandy. UT was edging back up in the polls with a likely win in a big rival game against Bama.

That was to set the stage for a duel for the top of the SEC east, a top-ten USC v. a top-20 UT - oh the significance, oh the excitement!

Then, USC drops one to Vandy and we get clobbered by Bama and I'm not really sure which team's fanbase should be more shocked/embarrassed.

Kind of takes some of the "shiny" off tomorrow nights game.

Nonetheless, I can already picture myself there whooping and hollering with 100,000+ fellow orange folks on a cool, crispy fall saturday night under the lights at Neyland. That gets me pumped up.

Unfortunately, I also know what will happen with the inevitable SOS trick play that fools the undisciplined Vols and sucks the momentum right out of Neyland.

I think we are all holding our collective breaths.

Spurrier was never really the enemy to me. Florida was.
And I've never been able to get a big hatred going for South Carolina. It's kind of like beating up on your next door neighbor's little brother. What do you gain?...

None taken. If you want, I can sort of bash you some about our win over you. You can say Tebow's gay and that Meyer likes to cry too much. I'll say UT is a has-been and you can talk about tradition.

Nah. That's a tired exchange.

I might get banned for this but, Ive always respected the Visor. I was so happy when he went to SC. Finally I could pull for him and not feel sick to my stomache. I just disliked Florida that much. This is a cool game for me. While I'll be pulling for the Vols this weekend, if the Chick'ns get us, well hell, at least they had a coach that I respected. It would be worse, (think loss to Charlie Weiss)

yup, then I could come back with "gators". Been down that road already, lets not go back. Besides, you and I have never gone head to head in verbal onslaughts. I respect your intelligence and I think the same is returned.
