David Sanders thoughts

Sanders did look good on that pull and Lance Heard was a road grater on his pull blocks too. There's some really good offensive line coaching and offensive line talent on Rocky Top these days, very Fulmeresque. We're living in good times, fellow Vol fans. Let's savor it. 🍊🥳🍾
Actually impressed with how much better Oline is than I thought they would be

Boys we have some guys who can really play this game. David Sanders is going to be a top 5/10 draft pick one day. I get that sometimes we get frustrated with how a game is going and all that but some guys need to take a breath and relax at times. We have way too many loose cannons firing bullets when a game gets stressful. Mistakes happen yet we won even if we needed a little luck we still made the plays we needed to WIN

On the first play of his career he almost took a dudes head off. won every rep after that. false start aside, I’m VERY excited to see what he can do down the stretch.
It was great to see how excited he was to come on the field .Dude looked like a kid in a candy store .He is going to be special

He's a left tackle talent for sure!

I think since Perry has been playing well in his absence the staff is just leaving it like it is. If it allows Sanders to redshirt and step in for Heard or Heard move to OG in the future it will be a HUGE plus for us

The days of redshirting are pretty much done. Most of these elite kids are gonna be here three years then be in the draft.

sanders isn’t redshirting. He will be the starting RT against Arkansas. Perry will move back to G

Let's all just close our eyes and picture it. On the right side of the line, Perry and Sanders. Shoo-wee. And on the left, Heard, who is an absolute monster, and Moe the Mauler. Pendleton holding down the middle and a now-battle-tested Big Sham waiting in the wings to spell either guard. Lordy them boys are going to bully some people. They already have.

It was one of the coolest football moments i’ve ever witnessed. can’t remember ever seeing a player so giddy about getting to play, then to go in and bust a guy in the mouth during a huge late game drive… just awesome. i’ll never forget it

Perhaps, but that’s some pretty tall cotton you are walking in.

Huge but an elite OL men needs to be quick, strong, and nasty and him hitting his helmet shows he was getting himself psyched up. He came in the way a fighter normally comes into a ring and I loved seeing that. That very first hit, his first ever, was like a Mack truck being shot out of a cannon. You’re gonna see highlights of him rawdoggjng D line guys down the field as we run screens and RBs behind him. Gonna be fun.

I’m also calling it now……

He will eventually catch a screen pass etc and be put into the mix. That speed? It’s gonna happen.

i think sanders may be different but even if he redshirts he can still leave after three. some guys love the experience
😂

Kid ain’t redshirting. He’s starting the next game. You don’t redshirt one of your 5 best OL so he can leave early for the NFL as a RSSo. instead of a true junior.

It's nice to know our tackle positions should be set next year with Sanders at LT and Perry at RT. Lot easier to find guards than it is tackles, so should probably just move Perry to tackle full time next year, if he does move inside for Sanders going forward.
