Not a word all week about an injury or “questionable” status but here we are 1 hour before the game.

It's called an "injury".

Common in football, and often results in paid players missing games. So, no, you don't punish players by revoking their pay when they're injured.

As for the concealment of Sanders' injury, CJH would not want an opposing team to know ahead of time that our starting tackle is out. This could allow them to plan and prep to take advantage of said injury. Your advanced knowledge of an injured player's status is irrelevant.
