David Reaves will be a TRUE QB Coach

Interesting Crompton will get the nod first, due to seniority. Thing is, he will probably get eliminated rather quickly since he will not be wearing a green jersey.

Quote:
“I think we are going to see one or two people that are going to step above the pack,” he said. “We will see what happens when the bullets are flying and you see four guys rushing.

“There are some guys that hit everything during 7-on-7’s, and then you rush four linemen and get some corners blitzing and they don’t know what to do. I am looking forward to seeing what these guys do when the pads are on.”

I don't think Crompton "got the nod". I think he'll just get the first practice with first team reps. Nick will then get his turn, followed by BJ.

That's pretty much what I meant. He will get the first look with the first team due to seniority.

He certainly learned under a great mentor of QB's in Spurrier - say what you want about his role on that team.

I just hope if Crompton wins the job people won't judge off of last year's performance and give him a chance.

I expect the Nation will rally around the starter just like the team will. We all had our different guys we wanted as coach, but I was really impressed how everyone rallied around Kiffin when he was hired. Good group of posters here at the "Nation."

I'll have a hard time ever supporting Crompton after last year's comments.

I will rally around whoever wins the starting QB job, even if it is Crompton, because I know whoever wins it will have earned it, versus getting it just because they have been here longer.

If they name Crompton the starter, it's because he gives us the best opportunity to win. I agree. I will rally around the guy.

This is really the only coaching position that worries me. Looking at USCe's QB's last year, I wasn't very impressed. I think family ties had a lot to do with this hire. I really hope I'm wrong, it couldn't be any worse then last year.

The USCe QB tragedy is Spurrier's cross to bear.

As long as they keep the "no contact" jersey off them this spring. Some of them appeared at times last year to flat freak out when they were under pressure. cough cough Crompton cough cough ....

I know what you mean but he did have several years with Spurrier and CLK worked with QB's at USC and with Jamarcus Russell in Oakland. I remember when CLK got the ax, Jamarcus was very upset. I think you will have CLK working with the QB's in addition to Reaves. That is one position that can not fail.
