David Pollock said VT would mop the floor with UT

This thread would mean someone other than a UGA fan actually watched that show. Now they can claim they have an interstate audience.

I guess when you call pathetic out, pathetic responds :) Pollack being a jackass should stand on its own without mention of a neck injury. No sense in wasting time to explain the concept of class to the author of this line:

He's a wasted draft pick because he got hurt. It happens. We don't have to wring our hands or whisper when we talk about him because it happened to be his neck that got hurt. He takes shots at Tennessee all the time; there's no reason we can't take shots back at him just because he hurt his neck poorly tackling somebody a few years ago.

I realize these's no point arguing this with the sort of person who uses "class" as a noun meaning "refinement," but save your sanctimony for people who really deserve it.

Yeah, no point in arguing with someone who uses a noun as a noun in one of its contextual definitions.

You're otherwise implying that you're taking shots at Pollack because he takes shots at TN. No problem with that from me, but in this thread are many negative references to Pollack's injury including this reprehensible entry:

be honest with yourselves
after seeing him on these b list shows and watching him play
arent you kinda glad he suffered through a career ending injury?

Here you go Pollack:

Still as much of a wasted draft pick as if he'd been busted with a suitcase full of prostitutes' body parts. He probably broke his neck due to poor technique.

Will anyone think less of me if I laugh hysterically at this? (Assuming of course you could think any less of me than you already do)

So? It's not like he's lying on the field writhing in pain or walking around in a neck brace right now. He got hurt, he quit, he moved on with his life without any apparent ill effects. On the Scale Of Things To Get Worked Up About, a lack of compassion among Vol fans for a three-year old injury to a guy who badmouths UT all the time seems way, way down the list.

Charlie, really? I expect more out of you.

We were so banged up, running our 3rd string MLB, who everyone knows is the most important position, they make all the calls and get the others in position.

Not to take anything away from Dexter but we gave him that game, missed so many tackles.

There's that. Also, Im not completly educated on VT's roster but Im doubting they have anyone with Dex's speed.

The guy's a homer and a hack, but that doesn't make him any worse than 9/10 sports journalists. His analysis is predictable, he can crack a good joke here and there. Like most UGA grads from the mid '00's, he has a higher opinion of the program that produced him than is warranted.

My biggest beef is his choice of suits and his haircuts. You'd think he would be able to use some of that bonus money to have himself tailored and tonsured responsibly.

It looks like he buys off the rack at S&K or Freidman's Big & Tall, and that he models his haircut after some kid on his eighth grade Pop Warner team.

As for their show, you can totally tell that Charles Davis relentlessly rags on him about UGA. Other than that, the show is worth tuning in to catch a glance of Cassidy Hubbarth.

So if a guy hurts his neck, then everybody has to spend the rest of his life talking about him in hushed tones in the name of "compassion"?

Guy is a jackass. He was a jackass at UGA; he's a jackass now in his chosen career. He's not in a wheelchair; he's not breathing through a machine; he ate his Thanksgiving dinner with a knife and fork just like the rest of us [1] instead of taking it in through a tube. He's fine. No reason to be sanctimonious about him just because his injury was to his neck rather than to his knee or his shoulder or his groin.

[1] Although really, Pollack probably just used his hands.

IDK..... The way he & David Greene carried on I wonder if maybe he DID take it through a tube.... I always thought he'd have been more comfortable as a cheerleader anyway the way he was always waving up the crowd even though he was 30 yards away from the play.... Never saw a guy get more credit for plays he had absolutely NOTHING to do with....

Totally...

How sweet was that win in Athens in '04?

Jeez, that takes me back.

oh kinda like how the vols wax the floor with his precious dawgs.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA or how is "precious" NFL career got waxed after a few games? Dude needs to stick to what he does best, and thats bumping his gums about a sport in which he dosent even play. hows your neck doing david? :shaking2:

I joined this post last year because I was going to make the trip up from Atlanta to a Vols game and wanted some info, haven't posted since. But I will say about Pollack watching him on CSS last year he is a joke. Big time UGA homer who thinks that Mark Richt is God. I will say though I was at a Vols game this year and the team looks to be a lot better than last year. It should be a great matchup and I'm looking for a great game come New Year's Eve if this does end up going through like we all expect. I'm actually living in Jefferson City now so I see and hear a lot of about the Vols lately. Good luck to all and Go Hokies!!
