Oku has done well on kickoff returns. I'm not sure why Gran hasn't given him more of a shot returning punts as well.

I just want to see Oku show me something on KR. I haven't seen much out of that unit. We need to help our offense out with field position. Do something, man.

You really think Poole won't be around next year? Just seems to me he could be a good replacement for Hardesty, not in the lead role but behind BB as the tough guy who maximizes every carry.

I can almost guarantee you, from a source close to Poole, that his intention is to transfer after the season. He could change his mind, but as of now, he and the coaches are expecting him to transfer.

Really. I am less than impressed. 18.7 yards per return is about as poor as you can get without losing the job. His longest return is 28 yards.

I bet you're wrong.

According to a teammate that is close to Poole, he will transfer. So if I'm wrong, it's because he changed his mind.

From my source:
Unless someone gets hurt or something else changes, look for Poole to transfer out after this season. This kid is really close to Poole, so he has a pretty good gauge on him.

Kiffin didn't promise anyone to my knowledge they wouldn't redshirt and the plan before Toney Williams got hurt was for him to do so.

Tauren Poole is not going to be a part of this team next year so we will likely have a new stud freshman to add to the rotation. No need to redshirt someone that can be productive for you when you are reloading every year.

I would think that Toney Williams will fill this role rather well from how he looked in the spring

why do we continue to dream of players staying 4 years. the reality today is giving the player the ability to do well for 1-2 years. by the time Oku is a junior or senior, he will have great knowledge of the offense and will be a great kick returner. if we hold him back this year, we position him to fall behind the next stud we bring in. by the time Oku and Bryce are juniors, we will have a Reggie, Lendale or Cadillac, Ronnie Brown combo with a stable to follow. Oku needs to be ready for that year because he and Bryce will be the 2 backs that start the momentum of great running backs coming to UT under Lane.

So does anyone still think he should hae redshirted? He's going to get better and better at kick returning as the season goes. Also Nuke is looking better.

but anyway...i don't think CLK promised anyone not to redshirt, just that they'd get the opportunity to play early...he wants the best players on the field regardless of class...besides being third string with a guy like hardesty, who has unfortunately had injury problems, in front of u isn't exactly a bad place to be for a true freshman
