I've got two parts to my post here. first part, Fulmer was NOTHING without ole CUT. With Cutcliffe we we're great, without him we were always so-so under FULMER. This is reality, the stats don't lie. No onto my second part, speculation. If he comes back and gets TRooper Taylor as OC. This would give Trooper time to become the next HC in waiting and would give us a smooth transition. Wow wouldn't that be nice. We would have Kippy Brown, Trooper taylor, and Cutcliffe. Not a bad coaching staff guys. Not bad at all. Chavis would probably alos come back. And since EVERYONE is saying oh no we cant hire calhoun we'll lose the recruits and that seems to be the main concern (which is stupid!) this would help us solidify our class. Troop would bring a few, chavis would bring a few, cutcliffe would keep the wr. It would not be bad and honestly living in the 90's again would not be horrible. Thats' when we were rockin!

Dear UTenn Boosters,

Please refuse to accept Cutcliffe as your new coach.

That way he can stay with us in Durham, where we love him and are super-duper happy to have him :) We'll take 6-6 and a Bowl Appearance happily. In fact, I think if he makes it to a Bowl Appearance (ANY bowl appearance!) this year he gets a big bonus. It'd be our first in 21 years!

cutcliffe is a good OC and qb coach, and also a decent head coach. that being said, i don't see him getting us anywhere near the next level we need to be. you'd probably be better off hiring fulmer or maybe even tubberville than cut.

If Cutcliffe comes he will hire Trooper taylor as OC and we're set. Class is saved also.

You sir are dead wrong. He is the worst we could have hired. He could not recruit 15 years ago. Has he developed a personality in the last week??????

A fair OC but just a horrible, horrible, horrible, choice for Teneessee's head coach. You have to, have to, have to, have someone with tremendous carisma to have any chance of pulling in out of state recruits in order to be competitive in the SEC. He can not, can not, can not,
do that. My keyboard has more personality.

Except Cutcliffe didn't come into Duke poppin off and talkin trash to respectable programs, giving it a little worse image, though it couldn't get any worse there, he also wouldn't be leaving it with the NCAA up its a55 with invesitgations, and he probably wasn't promising championships to everyone, and making empty promises to players....In other words he's shown a lot more class at Duke, then LK did here. He pretty much came in created a bit of a mess and left

There's a lot going on here. Now WBIR is changing their story and the North Carolina news station has recanted what it reported earlier. ALSO...media is reporting in Colorado that based on what was in Calhoun's statement that Tennessee never made an offer to him. Smoke, smoke, smoke....hopefully it's true.

If Cut is named coach, my love and support for the University of Tennesse doesn't go away, but I don't think he's the man for the job. Will I still root for us to win? Of course. I won't hope Cut loses. But do I think he can takes us back to championship levels? No, I do not, and if he can't do that, he's the wrong hire.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion. I have mine, you have your own. The difference, I'm not going to call you names for disagreeing with me.
