A DP sighting!!!
Tell us what you know.....
Anybody that says they know definitively what is going on is lying. There are two stories out there that seem to be plausible and reasonable, and they come from "sources" that are normally reliable. That said, one of them is clearly wrong, but I don't feel confident that I know which one is right and which one is wrong, so I'm not going to weigh in definitively.
I would be very surprised if it is not Fulmer or Blackburn. That said, if the boosters are truly blocking Blackburn and the new chancellor is truly insistant on a sitting athletic director, there's really no telling where this search will go.
I would like to see him get the job but I think he would better serve himself if he just kept quiet. It is almost desperate to continue to answer questions.
I hope they understand that people are tired of this bs and we want a decision made for the good of UT, not for the good of 5 or 6 guys. If the UC guy is hired, God help us all. He might be the best choice, but that will fly like a ton of bricks.
If he worked for anyone else beside UTC, he would be fired for these comments. I'm not sure even UTC shouldn't go ahead and fire him.
Anyone in the business world knows you don't do what he just did. "I'd love to interview with X competitor". I've been a big (hire DB) guy but the last week would give anyone huge concerns. If he gets hired, remember this post, he will have Butchisms when talking to the media and I think you will hear a lot from DB in the media. ADs are best seen, not heard in media unless there is a coaching change.

Since who he works for and the job he wants are all in the same organization I don't think its a big deal.
That's why I said "'if he didn't work for UTC".
I like DB, I've met him and like I said I've been on the hire DB train (think hiring him is an extremely hire for UT) but going on 'a tour' on Tn stations is not a good look and I'm sure his bosses at UTC aren't pleased. You never talk on potential jobs till after you are hired.
