Still just one INT in this game, and with that guys return skills it could make the difference in the game.

Bray will have to be careful to avoid the "Bray to Hunter 2010" just throw it up and let Hunter come down with it play.

This discussion just reinforces for me that we need to not do what we have at criical times in the past:

Force the ball to a couple guys or 1.
Have ineffective screens or middle of the field plays.
Be unable to grind the football forward on the ground which helps eat clock, maintain a lead, and offer more unsuspecting passing opportunities.

Uhhhhh, i took the bait and watched it. And that has to be the worst evaluation of a player I've ever heard. That kid is a stud! No wonder he's projected top 5 in the upcoming draft.

A lot of zone there, but those were some terrific plays on the ball. Only one was a gimme. I guarantee you Austin Rogers does not catch a 1/3 of those balls last year!

I'm sorry, but if I'm CJC, I scheme w that kid as one of the main check offs. We have enough weapons to burn the rest of their D. I would not be stupid and test him for chest bumping reasons that's for sure.

Hunter can beat him some of the time, but good coaching goes for the "lower hanging fruit" IMO.

I remember watching Hunter his Freshman year, he was very impressive. He reminded me of AJ Green. It was a shame to see how last year ended for him, he was going to breakout nationally IMO.

With that being said, you have to give the edge to Amerson. I just don't see how Hunter will be back to his norm in his first game back after a serious injury. Was there not a WR from Arky who suffered a similar injury and went from All-SEC to being average? I can't remember his name.

Amerson will get plenty of opportunities to show off his talents, it's no secret what UT likes to do on offense.

Amerson is definitely a ball hawk. He takes advantage of short throws, bad throws, missed/bobbled catches (this one worries me a lot not with Hunter but maybe others) and seems to rely a lot on the Safety coming in to help with deep coverage. I think any jump balls between him and Hunter, Hunter will definitely win those.

I think hunter will be back to normal by Florida at least. He's 100% physically but mentally it may take a few games. Gotta give the edge to Amerson this game. He's legit.

no. nc st is not dumb enough to have him 1 on 1 with JH or CP, he would get roasted. Amerson is not a lock down corner, he is a very good zone corner.

I've predicted 8-4 with this team, and I stand by it even with Most Definitely gone. That's pretty positive, isn't it?

If we can get out there and establish any kind of run game. This will not be an issue! Also we have to test Amerson early one interception want determine this game. We can not allow a ACC cornerback single handedly take our best offensive player out of the game. If that happens we may as well shut our season down now! Go Vols!!!

No. A QB makes a bad throw and gets picked... that's on the QB.

A good CB makes it look like the receiver is open and closes the gap and makes the pick or at least breaks up the pass.

I didn't see anything that makes it look like Amerson is a phenomenal CB that bested equal competition in the WR and QB and created the bad play. It's just QBs making bad decisions.

I'm not riding him down and saying he's a bad CB but when he played decent-good QBs he was pretty much silent. He capitalized on replacement QBs and poor competition. He had 5 pass breakups on the entire year and 3 of them were against Liberty.

He makes plays when you throw in his direction and he looks really athletic for a 6'3" guy.

Difference is Bray actually has the receivers to be able to make those plays.

But having said that, a pounding ground attack and Rivera underneath game-plan would not hurt my feelings.:)

Exactly. He's a zone corner, looks more like a safety than a cover corner. Doubt he can cover one on one. Certainly no highlights showing it. Looks like he could be a good punt returner too, had plenty of opportunities to show off that ability after being on the receiving end of so many terribly thrown balls. It was like watching a game of 500 on most of those INT's.

I imagine this is what happens.

It all depends on Bray making the reads and the receivers adjusting to hit the gaps in zone coverage. Plus, good opportunity for quality run game.

If that's correct, where are all of our picks we should've had last year? We only faced 3 good QBs all year - Wilson, McCarron, and Murray - heck, we even plaed against a WR as a QB! Where are all our picks against terrible QB play if Amerson is so lucky??

Amerson is definitely a beast, yeah there were some bad throws but a good db takes advantage of those. I don't believe we completely shy away from him but there's no need to go at him if you don't have to. Once he gets the ball in his hands he can make you pay for it. The kid led the NCAA in picks and is a preseason All American you don't get there by luck alone.
