For those who haven't watched Amerson's highlight reel, take a look. This is all 13 of his INT's last season. Looks like he was the lucky recipient of mostly terrible throws from bad QB's. Some of these INT's almost look like they were thrown to him on purpose.

DAVID AMERSON 2011 HIGHLIGHTS - YouTube
Wonder if this will be "The Matchup"?
David Amerson solidified his status as one of college football's best ball-hawking defensive backs with his breakout 2011 campaign.
Amerson picked off an ACC record 13 passes during his All-American sophomore season, which means he'll now be one of the most feared defenders in college football in 2012.
Don't expect the 6'3'', 194-pound junior to get tested very often this season, since opposing quarterbacks won't be eager to challenge the lockdown corner.

Im sure EB was going full NFL game mode, too, when he let Hunter beat him to get some confidence in the knee. You people amaze me.
That one's on Tebow - there were 4 defenders and no receivers I could spot. But it was still a nice catch by the DB.
And all you posters banging on the QBs in the highlight reel, I have a questions for you: Isn't virtually EVERY interception because of a bad throw?
sad, part is i fear tyler bray might just make some stupid throws like in that video. he likes to just chuck it up and watch em go get it or hope they come down with it.
no. nc st is not dumb enough to have him 1 on 1 with JH or CP, he would get roasted. Amerson is not a lock down corner, he is a very good zone corner.
I remember watching Hunter his Freshman year, he was very impressive. He reminded me of AJ Green. It was a shame to see how last year ended for him, he was going to breakout nationally IMO.
With that being said, you have to give the edge to Amerson. I just don't see how Hunter will be back to his norm in his first game back after a serious injury. Was there not a WR from Arky who suffered a similar injury and went from All-SEC to being average? I can't remember his name.
Amerson will get plenty of opportunities to show off his talents, it's no secret what UT likes to do on offense.
Difference is Bray actually has the receivers to be able to make those plays.
But having said that, a pounding ground attack and Rivera underneath game-plan would not hurt my feelings.![]()
No. A QB makes a bad throw and gets picked... that's on the QB.
A good CB makes it look like the receiver is open and closes the gap and makes the pick or at least breaks up the pass.
I didn't see anything that makes it look like Amerson is a phenomenal CB that bested equal competition in the WR and QB and created the bad play. It's just QBs making bad decisions.
I'm not riding him down and saying he's a bad CB but when he played decent-good QBs he was pretty much silent. He capitalized on replacement QBs and poor competition. He had 5 pass breakups on the entire year and 3 of them were against Liberty.
