So she has to hire a provost as well. Given that impacts more students I would think that would be her focus before AD - though I know most on here don't really care if the students get an education or not.

I'd say there's a 50/50 chance your polling has any credibility.

Just hire Blackburn and make everyone happy.

Give the hometown guy a chance to prove he can handle our AD job or not.

Hiring Blackburn very soon will also make her more popular with our sports fans and backers.

Wasting more time to hire our new AD will also dry up the coaches we might have a chance to hire if we want them.

Hiring Blackburn seems to be a no brainer for her.

Get it done NOW!!!

VFL...GBO!!!

Is there any reason Fulmer is not being considered for AD or at least something related.

First off, I think that CPF should be considered for some part in the University. He's earned it. He's a VFL no doubt. Secondly, the fact that they are still talking title IX in such a "concern" is media fodder. I believe Blackburn will be named to AD soon as we need everything to be calm and finished before the recruiting dead period ends. Stay calm and VFL on baby!. Go Vols beat the Corn suckers!

Everybody that can read can tell there is only one reason SHE was hired.

Sure they are trying to make themselves look better after the Title IX investigation. But clearly this woman is qualified and has already served as interim president at a major university. To suggest her gender is the only reason she was hired is ridiculous.

An AD is a fund raiser, business person and promoter. Fulmer can do that with the best of em. Throw in the Orange blood and you have a Vol AD

Could he fire someone like Holly Warlick though? Don't know if I want him. Allegiances can run too deep.

Yep it has nothing to do with her long and deep experience with academic administration and experience in handling potentially explosive social/criminal issues at other schools.

They definitely just pulled someone off the street after doing a gender check.

The first mark against davenport is outsiders (people with no Tennessee connection) shouldn't be hired for top decision making positions, Tennessee has been there done that and we are still living in the aftermath. Just think people with a Tennessee pedigree would work together better and have Tennessee's best interest at heart. If that'd been the case Tennessee may not have experienced the problems that popped up. Everyone must be on the same page to have success. Hate to say it , take a look at bama's organization , most of the important decision makers have a school pedigree. Not saying the coaches should have a prior connection, a lot of the time that doesn't workout. :twocents:

Sometimes you need an outsiders view to move forward.

I'd quibble with the "business person" portion of that. Don't know how he's demonstrated running an administration or balancing budgets. And Blackburn's blood is just as Orange if you require that.
