Davenport Fired

I heard it's because Bev poked fun at the Browns going with Mayfield #1 and Ward at #4. Haslam egos couldn't handle it.

Another step in taking power away from Haslam and those he controlled?

Or, does this have his fingerprints on it?

Does anyone think Pruitt has a chance of winning big with the administration at UT. If they are not 100% behind the program it will not matter who coaches. They are the reason big money could not hire a big name coach.

Think Fulmer will do everything in his being to make sure Pruitt is successful.

Hats off to her for rejecting Schiano and getting rid of Currie. Hope this doesn't mean Haslam is taking back control.

She did neither willingly. Let’s not revise history here. That said, I agree with your Haslam comment. I’m no Davenport fan, but this sudden firing is a bit troubling on its face.

He didn’t control her. That’s why she’s gone. Fulmer’s on his own.

Bill Haslem setting it up so he can hire Chancellor when his term as governor is over and he becomes head of UT system.

This totally conflicts with your narrative on her. I said she stood up to the powers that be (namely Haslam) and you countered that she only did it to save her job...how’d that work out? She did what was right and put a target on herself. No other conclusion.

She rejected the governor's proposal to privatize certain services at UTK and she fired Currie and she hired Fulmer.

Without knowing more, I don't like this...

Where is the accountability? This is a state funded University and they are giving out severances like candy at Halloween. If I performed this poorly at my job I would have been fired a long time ago.
