You people are crazy. How come OSU fans didn't get their undies in a knot when Schiano was hired there? Maybe because Shiano didn't do anything wrong. The football world is laughing at UT fans--the deep south going full-on goober.

The Washington Post article came out after he was hired at OSU.

The students at OSU are now calling for Schiano to resign.

Really Richard they have Urban Meyer as a head coach he likes murders gang members and now apparently pedophiles . So obviously OSU fans do not give a f*** as long as they win.

Word is Schiano has gotten wind of all the backlash by UT fans and is having second thoughts. Thank God we have passionate fans that care about this University even if our Chancellor and AD don't.

Schiano would be very wise to stay out of Knoxville, he's already lost before he starts:hi:

Armchair,

The testimony against GS was released after OSU hired him. Not enough cause to fire him, but certainly a bad look.

Tennessee is a program that desperately needs a positive, unifying hire that gives off no odor of foul play or violations, much less immorality. This hire would REEK of exactly what we don't need.

Also, as perception is reality, no parent in the South would rationally send their son to a school where the head coach was allegedly involved in covering up child abuse (whether true or not.). An opposing coach could simply have to say "Sandusky" and sit back as the vitriol processed its way through prospective families.

And still, regardless of this, Currie promised a "big, explosive" hire of "integrity". GS had a horrible losing record at Tampa Bay and didn't exactly light it up at Rutgers.

HARD pass on this one.

Court documents were sealed until July 2016 when several articles came out about Schiano and Bradley knowing about Sandusky. Schiano was hired by OSU in December 2015. I’m surprised this wasn’t an issue in Columbus before now.

Because Schiano was hired at OSU prior to the Washington Post article.

Well said. Simple common sense. Don’t know what in GOD’s name Currie was thinking here.

Btw, who handles the vetting process in our athletic department? How is it that we’ve now hired Donnie Tyndall and tried to hire Greg Schiano? Seriously, what is going on over there?

There is now comments out there that Currie didn't know about the Washington Post article. OSU may also not have known about this when they hired Schiano.

I don't pretend to know who is telling the truth in the PSU case - I just know that we don't need anyone who "may have" known something about what was going on at PSU as the face for Tennessee football.

If Currie did not know about this, then he is unfit to be an AD and make this hire. This is the most important hire in UT Football history and he doesn’t do his homework and is vacationing in the Bahamas with the basketball team. I️ can’t believe the boosters and Chancellor signed off on this.

That is because Schiano's name wasn't released until the civil court documents were released to the Public in 2016. So it is possible OSU didn't know at the time of hire being this is year 2 for him. Make sure you hae the facts before posting. Regardless whether he knew or didnt' know, his name is tied to an era when a program was hiding the sexaul assault of young boys! If you have any children of your own you would understand why this is a big deal and if you don't than "bless your heart!"

John Currie must be released as Athletics Director and Beverly Davenport as Chancellor at UT. Just the fact that Schiano is being considered as our Head football coach should make this a fire able offense. If you care at all about our University or Athletics Dept., please Call , email or text Currie at jcurrie@utk.edu, 8655996688. Stand up for what's right!

We need to consider going after whoever hired Davenport as well, she's the one who gave us Currie over Blackburn.

Again what do we expect, the woman came from Cinncinnati evidently UT's feeder program and she hired Currie who has never made a major hire in his life. Now we wonder how this could happen? We were already a laughing stock now we have added a cherry on top. Heads damn sure need to roll, enough is enough.
