I don't think it's fair to say he's won everywhere he's coached. In seven years at Wake he's 40-45 (19-36 in conference). He's 72-77 between BGSU and Wake.
Last 5 years there he's 34-27 there. They're basically the Vandy of the ACC. He's a really good coach.

His last year at BG he won 10. His last year at Richmond he won 11. His last year at Fordham he won 9.

His W-L totals are skewed by having to rebuild programs
0-11 first year at Fordham, 3-8 first year at Richmond, etc.

no way we beat Ole Miss. Missouri looked like a much better team later in the year so I doubt we win that one either. If Kentucky has a half decent QB that could be a loss as well. SC and Vanderbilt cou possibly be our only SEC wins.
Agree.

With an overall of 4 wins maybe 5 :(

Do you think CJP would be fired after the 2021 Alabama game if Tennessee has one or two wins? 2021 i think could be historically bad in my opinion and i think the next head coach has to be given five years to right the ship.
There is quality talent on this roster for a Freeze, Malzahn, Sarkisian, Campbell type offensive minded HC to win 8 games easy. That is the most frustrating disheartening part about this. It’s like Fulmer would rather let us get humiliated another season with his $#!T hire vs getting serious about this program like he said in that damn AD acceptance speech....full of garbage lies.

what are u basing this on? recruiting stars? recruiting classes? if so, explain how teams with weaker classes beat teams with much higher ranked classes?

rankings are from who scouts have seen and decided who is best from what they've witnesses. there are tons of over-rated kids and under-rated ones. i still see.....live.....alonte taylor have stupid little brain farts over and over. go look at the florida game and watch him follow the slant in every single time knowing the wheel is coming.

I’m not advocating for him to get a job that’s not available, however he has won everywhere he has coached. Winning at Wake Forest with their academic standards. Supposedly Fulmer wouldn’t let him bring any offensive assistants with him and also handcuffed him by not letting him install his complete offense.

You do remember the Clawfence.....right?
How about we get him as OC and Sal Sunseri as DC?

and it would be a smart decision because he would have puled the roster out of the gutter completely after the butch jones era

As soon as Jennings, Callaway and Bituli left, Pruitt’s “out of the gutter” roster had no answers for the loss of production or leadership. Couple that with CJP riding Butch’s QB to the bitter end with three of his own QBs on the roster... the future sure does look bright!

When you see an Arkansas team that didn’t win an SEC game last season come in with a new HC being 9 points away from being 6-4 in an all SEC schedule. 2019 they only beat Colorado State and Portland State...even lost to San Jose State.
Hell look at UNC now since Mack Brown arrived there.
Pure coaching.
What separates Bama, Clemson, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Georgia from the rest? Superior coaching with NFL talent filled rosters.
I’m gonna say some of those same schools that recruited a lot of our players weren’t screwing up their assessment of those players.

FTR, Clawson wouldn’t be a terrible hire. Far, far from a home run. I think he would do decent in the SEC. I think he would be good for 6-7 wins a year. We would still get dominated by the big 3 and our SECW opponents.

the next coach gets five years but CJP only gets 3 or 4 years?

maybe the previous coaches at those places left the roster better than what butch left us. all we know is a lot of butch's guys quit, transferred, were not developed properly in the weightroom, etc.. i mean there's a reason he was fired

but the next class after them were seniors all recruited by butch.....and the next class. i think 5 years is appropriate barring total meltdown. i dont think tennessee is there right now. especially after reading austin pope's interview

If you’re heading in the right direction, you have comments like Pope’s after year one, not three. Just because players were recruited by one coach doesn’t mean they can’t play for another coach (especially a coach who’s supposed to be a developer of talent). In addition many of Butch’s underdeveloped/underutilized players went on to make impacts in the NFL.
We’re three years in and this program still has the feel of a transition. You can give Pruitt five years, heck you can give him 10. From coaching PR blunders to player development to NCAA investigations, every red flag of a poor staff is flying high

How many times have we seen coaches with their backs against the wall outperform expectations? Seldom. From recruited talent standpoint, a 4th year Pruitt *should* win 8 of these 11, and probably the 12th game that will be added. But Pruitt is unlikely to go 9-3 under that pressure. More than likely after the first or second blowout 20+ point loss, the team will quit on him, he will be fired in November, and we will watch this sad Groundhog's day play out once again, as our brave local media members reveal all of the stories detailing the problems in Pruitt's program, after the fact.

This is the biggest fear of hiring Fulmer as AD coming to fruition: his scars from being let go as coach means that he has a real aversion to firing under-performing coaches. He's not going to behave like Jeremy Foley and cut bait. No Freeze or anyone else until 2022, more than likely.
Fulmer is not the one who will be making those decision. He’s only AD by title, basically a glorified fundraiser.

We actually played better against Alabama than Notre Dame did tonight, @nd that was with JG at QB.
