The interesting thing to me is that what if Clawson is the guy? He may be the one giving input on the assistants. It's sounding like Dratyon is a done deal and those two worked together at Villanova. :good!:

Good point that supports that maybe Clawson is the guy.

Clawson is a fantastic coach........I have a family member on the Richmond staff, so I follow them quite a bit.....The players love him.......His running back Tim Hightower was an All-American and a finalist for the Walter Payton award.........So he likes to run the ball! His Spiders lost to Appy St...in the semi's 55-35........The game was tied halfway in the 3rd but Appy just had more talent! Dave Clawson will be a head coach for a major program soon! I think this would be a great hire by Coach Fulmer!

I am amazed. I know this was not the worst alternative and it could end up great. However, I would say Cignetti was more proven and it looks like we let him go. Clawson has not recruited one day in the big time. He has not coached one day in the big time. He will have no name recognition. So if he does well great we made his career. However, if we have a so so season next year I am scared of the recruiting consequences. And recruiting is college football in many ways. If we get the staff of solid recruiters to go with maybe it works out. I dunno we did not need to take risks if Fulmer would change some of his offensive philosophies.

Here, here, this program needs an infusion of young blood, this could turn out to be a great week for UT.(could) :zeitung_lesen:

It comes down to one simple thing. If the new offense is productive, recruits will want to come play in it. If the offense sucks, they won't. If Fulmer does assemble this staff, it should only be because he thinks it is a staff strong enough to help UT contend for SEC and national titles. If it is, the rest will take care of itself.

Funny how the article says "could" announce. Sounds like they don't really know. Although it does sound somewhat likely.
