Dave Clawson On The Locker Room Show

I'm sorry that I don't want uneducated hicks perpetuating a stereotype about my school. They can root for UT all they want, but I won't claim them as part of UT.

Wow. You get upset in another thread about a guy saying "black school" but it sounds like you are the one putting others down. Real classy!

Thats the most ridiculous thing I have read in awhile. Do you ever stop to think that, Tennessee Football is more important to some people than it is to you. Football to some of these "hill folk" is more than just a game, it is a sense of pride! Also, that sign in the locker room reads "I will give my all to Tennessee" not just the campus grounds at Knoxville.

That sign is referencing the University of Tennessee.

Overalls hunting is fine.

It's the people that wear them every day. My entire family on my mothers side are hill folk from Missouri. The men on that side of the family wear overalls most every single day. It makes you go crazy.
If you have a problem with perceptions of the UofT, why on earth did you choose to attend?

People still talk about the Clausen's today. Not to mention it actually IS possible to travel to and from one end of the state a few times during that time period.

No, I'm sure you did a lot of traveling to East Knoxville back when you were 11-15.

That sign is referencing the University of Tennessee.
That sign is for the entire Volunteer state. Do you think that everyone at those games, spending their hard earned dollar are students at the University? I know several mechanics, tobacco farmers and crop farmers who save up all year long just to buy those season tickets to benefit your education. You should really think about what your saying.

Exactly.

To some people, Tennessee football is all they know about the university and that's fine.

They donate much more than what tuition costs for a year. Therefore, it's more of their university than it is your's, regardless of if they have shoes on or not.

If it was for the 'entire' state then those people would be spending their money supporting TSU, Vandy, MTSU, ETSU, U of Memphis, UTM, UTC etc along with supporting UTK.

How in the world does their season tickets benefit MY education? The money goes to the AD.

One of, if not the wealthiest man I know, only comes out of his work clothes on Sundays. He owns about 700 acres and farms it.

Overalls and tobbaco spitting is common sight with him.

He donates several thousand a year to the University of Tennessee and not just the athletic department

There are hotels in east Knoxville. People stay in them.

So you and your family were traveling to hotels in east Knoxville were "hillfolk" in overalls wearing no shoes were staying? But you and your family were the only ones in the hotel in your Polo shirts khaki pants and loafers?

Did I every say anything bad about farmers?

The hillfolk weren't staying there. Remember, they live near here. They don't actually need a hotel.

Exactly! I could list several people exactly the same that donate huge amounts to the ag department.

But, they are just "hill folk" and give the University a bad perception.

What do you think the vast majority of overall wearing people work at? Macy's???? You are opening up something you cant win, I really have changed my perception of you.

1) I know plenty of people who wear overalls who have nothing to do with farming. I also know plenty of people who farm who wear jeans and a flannel shirt.

2) You're a faceless guy on the internet. Change your perception of me if you want.
