Darren Myles

That doesnt really have anything to do with it.

Myles has:

prior arrest, got punished but left on team

now this, which is a far worse incident and arrest = GONE

That's kinda what I'm saying, someone is going to be the fall guy. It looks like that will be Darren, and he deserves it.

CDD should consider banning the players from the strip until they prove they can handle themselves or something similar.

I think it could end up more than just Myles. He may be only one with something that happened previously which was public. Others may have had incidents that were not public. All will depend on how Dooley wishes to handle but my guess is, more than one kid will have to pay for what happened last night plus previous faults...

We haven't even gotten all the details yet so almost everything is speculation...

Bye Myles...atleast wait until you're good on the field before getting arrested twice, that might save your tail as far as getting another chance to stay with the team. i.e. (Janzen). No productivity + 2 arrests = toast from Dooley.

I don't think it has anything to do with being the fall guy. If Myles were the only one involved here, he would probably still get the boot for having a 2nd run in with the police at a bar in a relatively short time.

I will say this, Myles acted up while everyone was on vacation, but this is his second time in 3 months and after the first it was made clear to him that he had to cut the shenanigans.

He should be gone unless he was defending a woman who was being beaten or something similar. What a brash fool. See you in Hampton.

Thank you again for another great post!

Getting arrested is one thing. I understand that it happens. I go to UT and was a freshman last year, I was arrested and no atleast ten other people who were as well. It's easy to get arrested in a college town, but jesus these are more serious charges than public intox and disorderly conduct in Myles' case.

Apparently Myles is immature and unable to handle himself properly when in situations involving alcohol. From the evidence it seems he might also have an alcohol/substance abuse issue that unchecked may become a bigger problem.

He probably needs to go and he also needs to get some help and strong guidance. Another Kiffin start recruit down the drain. That top 10 class is looking weaker all the time.

I talked to a coach several months ago about Jackson and he said he needs to stay on the straight and narrow (no more arrests) if he wants to stay.

Now Myles?

It is bizarre that Demetrice Morley with his background and difficulties now looks well behaved compared to our secondary.

Anyone blaming the coaches needs to calm down. They cannot bed check and this is one of the main times the coaches are on vacation. That said I would hope that Andre Lott buys a police scanner after this nonsense...
Bet the lottery on it Myles is history.

I agree! To be honest, I do not know how much longer we can go without football seaon starting. By the time kickoff gets here we may only have 30 scholarship players on the damn roster! Darren Myles Jr., if the allogations are true, needs to be dismissed. Let him waste his talent in the Division 2 ranks. As far as the others go, what a disappointment, especially Denarius Moore. He is supposed to be the leader. But then again, that is the problem with this whole team. NO LEADERSHIP! I bet Al Wilson and Peyton Manning are in awe right now. I love my Tennessee Vols but I can honestly say that I am starting to lose pride in Tennessee Football. The players obviously do not care therefore why should we? Hell. Just go rob another bank. Who cares? I am a UT football player I can get away with it. Right? I mean this is freaking ridiculous. A strip club? It seems like every time we get positive momentum going, something stupid has to show its rear to knock the team back down again. Its like 2 steps forward and 3 steps back. We claim to be the "Real UT". We need to start acting like it!

We don't know the facts. Kids WILL get into trouble. Denarious may have been there as the mother hen. He may have tried to break it up and got involved. Then again, he may have thrown the first punch. Let's get the facts and hopefully we act deliberatley in the best interests of the university and the kids.

i mean someone needs to explain to these kids that they are superstars here and will constantly be watched.... what would make them think they could jump someone outside a bar on the busyest street in knoxville....a cop no less....

Think about this as well. Do we really want players on our team that care more about drinking, than they do studying, or being the best they can be on the field? How good of a player can u be if you are always drinking?

Dooley will punish the entire team for this. He did it the last time Myles got arrested and will do it again. He treats them as one so they are all accountable.

However, individual punishments might be a lot bigger and could result in dismissal.

I don't see him getting out of this. In trouble twice in 3 months. Good luck to him.

Dooley is the one with egg on his face here. if he would have disciplined Myles for the 1st incident maybe he wouldn't have been involved in this one. Jackson, Myles should be gone. darick suspended for the entire year.
will be interesting to see how Dooley reacts now.

That's good coaching, and I hope he drills the hell out of them. Unfortunately, punishment isn't likely to be this light. I'm expecting multiple-game suspensions for multiple players.

Da'Rick Rogers is quasi-replaceable, our receiving corps is deep.
We've lived without Myles Jr. last year, although we still had EB. I think losing him (whether it's suspension or dismissal) will hurt a lot more.
And I'm hoping Montori isn't in serious trouble; if there's one guy we simply can't afford to lose, it's him.

the sad part here....most involved were underage and not suppose to be drinking.....so they made the decision to beat a bar patron and two cops....while sober?

It is really pathetic how "Snake Bit" the Tennessee football program has become. We finally start putting together some descent recruiting classes after Fulmer practically put us in the dirt, and now the stars of those classes refuse to keep their act clean. I chose the word refuse for a reason. Everything that happened last night was by choice. Darren Myles Jr. made the choice to go to a bar last night and get drunk after he had already been given the opportunity to come back on the team from a prior similar incident. Case in point, he put himself before the team. Darren Myles is nothing more than an unproven collegiate player. Period. He needs to go. As for the others involved, I say give them one more chance. The second strike and they are gone as well. Tennessee will never win another championship as long as it has players on it that put themselves before the team. That is essentially what happened last night and that is why they are in this predicament. Not only did they disgrace the University, but they also disgraced their teammates and yes, the fans. Furthermore, I have to give props to the other 75-80 players who actually kept their nose clean last night and will hopefully continue to do so for the betterment of the UT Football Program.

Seriously?

They go out during the summer and they have a drinking problem?
