Darren Myles

I have to hope Myles wasn't involved himself. If he was, he's gone. Even just being present at shenanigans like this should get him suspended.

Sounds like Da'Rick was just mouthing off, because they'd have charged him with assault if he was the one who struck a cop. And seriously...an off duty cop?!? I'd say that's pretty bad luck, but that implies these guys were just unlucky, when they are certainly to blame here.

Dooley, this is your chance to show that UT will no longer tolerate this crap. I certainly won't. Lott, this is your first chance to earn some salary. I'd hate to have either of their jobs right now.

I partied and drank and did stupid stuff in college too, but at no point did people end up being taken to the hospital on my account. Not even close.

And why the hell is our prized 18 year old recruit at a bar at 1:50am? SMFH

Myles has been arrested by UT Police, Da'Rick by KPD. Denarius Moore detained for questioning. Myles' charge is not known. Rogers charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Montori Hughes was also detained, but it is not known whether he was arrested or detained for questioning. It has been reported that there are 2 additional players who were detained. The identity of the other 2 players is not known at this time.

Disorderly conduct is something cops pull out of their ass when they don't have anything legitimate to charge you with. If that's all they've got on DaRick, then they have nothing.

I'm all Vol but I get sick and tired of some student-athletes acting like this. I pay out-of-state tuition for my kid to attend UT and she does well in school and stays out of trouble because she wants to be there. Kick those dumb a**es out of there and give me the scholarship money.

yeah, it generally means you weren't respecting their authority. I've seen several people get arrested because the cops thought they weren't being polite.

I agree that people should keep a calm head and be polite, but I'm not sure its legal to arrest someone for being loud and rude. Just one of those things we let cops get away with.

IF Rogers assaulted the campus police officer he will be expelled from the University of Tennessee.

I agree! To be honest, I do not know how much longer we can go without football seaon starting. By the time kickoff gets here we may only have 30 scholarship players on the damn roster! Darren Myles Jr., if the allogations are true, needs to be dismissed. Let him waste his talent in the Division 2 ranks. As far as the others go, what a disappointment, especially Denarius Moore. He is supposed to be the leader. But then again, that is the problem with this whole team. NO LEADERSHIP! I bet Al Wilson and Peyton Manning are in awe right now. I love my Tennessee Vols but I can honestly say that I am starting to lose pride in Tennessee Football. The players obviously do not care therefore why should we? Hell. Just go rob another bank. Who cares? I am a UT football player I can get away with it. Right? I mean this is freaking ridiculous. A strip club? It seems like every time we get positive momentum going, something stupid has to show its rear to knock the team back down again. Its like 2 steps forward and 3 steps back. We claim to be the "Real UT". We need to start acting like it!

Thanks for sending your kids to TN, i am sure they are loving it. But since you didn't go to TN, you probably aren't aware that the UTPD are generally a bunch of want-to-be cops that have a chip on their shoulder and go out looking to make a name for themselevs by arresting TN football players or frat guys at any opportunity. They are often jealous because they didn't get to go to college and thus take it out on those that are just trying to have a good time.

If reports are true about TN football players, then yeah those involved are at fault, but I bet there is another side to this story, and it would not suprise me if the "off duty" UT cop provoked some of this.

JMO.

Am I over reacting? Probably. Does my kid like UT? She loves it. But it seems more incomprehensible to someone like me that has a greater financial stake than most.

I understand your frustration. Just thought I'd point out that the UTPD's story may not be completely accurate.

Thanks for supporting TN. CDD will fix this mess.

I will say this, Myles acted up while everyone was on vacation, but this is his second time in 3 months and after the first it was made clear to him that he had to cut the shenanigans.

He should be gone unless he was defending a woman who was being beaten or something similar. What a brash fool. See you in Hampton.

Myles has to be gone. Dooley has to make an example out of someone, and we all know it's not going to be a true freshman or a senior "leader".

That doesnt really have anything to do with it.

Myles has:

prior arrest, got punished but left on team

now this, which is a far worse incident and arrest = GONE
