Thanks for posting.

Recruits are hearing this on Monday morning:

"Taylor’s performance earned him with high honors, being named the Walter Camp National FBS Defensive Player of the Week."

"Earlier this season, Taylor recorded three sacks at Georgia in Week 5 and has been a consistent player since."

"Taylor attributes coaching throughout the week of practice in making him a better player."

Sounds like Tracy Rocker also deserves some credit as well

Great for Taylor

Question: Who do we have coming back on the DL that can contribute and be a decent SEC D lineman?

A couple of our top recruits in CJP’s first class of recruits didn’t show up to play. Any chance they have got their grades or whatever cleared up and can still join the team? Brent Lawless and Antonutti?

Lawless never made it in, and Antonutti was injured last I heard. Definitely redshirting at this point.

At the Charlotte game we sat behind the bench and every time the offense was in Rocker was back there talking to those guys, very animated and in coaching mode. I was impressed with his passion. One time late in the game Pruitt came back there for a second and gave them his almost smile.

Taylor is one special Vol! He was an absolute beast! What was the name of the guy from KY that was supposed to be so good? I can't remember, but Taylor is national player of the week!!
If he steps it up the next two games, he could easily be draft material. But I think he will come back.

Its amazing the difference in technique and just plain effort this year with better coaching.

We had some good coaches but the HC sets the tone and the culture was so bad.

Next year we will be much better with another year of coaching.

Will Emerson and Kingston Harris be ready? I’m just wondering because I haven’t been paying attention to D line development lately
I havent either but the unit as a whole appears to be getting better so its looking positive for the younger guys. Another year under Fitz and good coaching will go a LONG way IMO

Lawless was reported to be cleared to enroll at UNC in August but he does not appear to be on their roster.

Josh Allen I believe. Don't remember hearing his name. I think he was the one that had as much sacks as the Georgia defense leading up to the KY GA game.

Taylor earned his props this week, and the push up the middle by the DLine and good coverage really helped him. DBs made some plays smacking the ball loose on coverages not to mention 2 picks by Osborne. Maybe the coaching is starting to take hold as well as familiarity with the new system. Guess we will find out on Saturday against an air raid.
