Matt Darr's scoop and run was an awesome play and I really didn't figure him for that kind of guy before that play.

Looks like we've got a new honorary BA.

When Matt Darr's kick gets blocked, he doesnt fall down, he scores. (with the blocker's sister)

Rod Wilks has never done anything that cool. Stop trying to make fetch happen.

That play was amazing, and I have never seen anything like it. I actually thought the kicking team could not advance a blocked kick or punt.

I believe it can be advanced if it's behind the line of scrimmage. Matt has the highest ypc on the team. He actually put a pretty good fake on one player that sent him to the ground. He was a TE and LB in high school, and won the CA discus state championship for 2 years. Got to be a pretty good athelete to do that. I hope Chaney works him into the offense in some way.

correct. A blocked punt that does not cross the los is considered a fumble by the receiving team so it can be advanced by either team.

I'm curious of what the rule book says about a blocked punt that crosses the los. Anyone know?

My understanding is that it is the same as a regular kick. The kicking team touching it downs the ball when touched. The receiving team can return it like normal.

I hope nobody starts another demeaning Rod Wilkes like blather. No matter what some believe these comments make fun of the player who is one of us. It is really disgusting. I am sure Rod would agree.

His punting sucks!!!

Don't hold back. Tell us how you really feel.

Comments like this remind me of the commercial where a TV analyst is laughing about field goal kickers and about how easy a 35 yard FG is.

Next shot is on a football field and the jokes on him.

Still counts as a punt (regular punt rules)

Something like that happened vs Bama in 08 (or 09)

Rod wouldn't have punted in the first place

I would like to take this opportunity to apologize to Mr Wills and his family. I should never have suggested that he would ever consider punting. I hope in time he can forgive this horrible mistake on my part.

His punting does suck. it has nothing to do with me not being able to do it. Darr was given a scholly to punt the ball, and he's not very good at it. He's distance is maybe average, but the big problem is how long it takes him to get a punt off. It's just too long. Yeah, he made a play, but he's gotta start getting the ball off quicker.
