Most will be wearing orange. There is no official blackout for the fans. Just dark mode jerseys for the team. A lot of misinformation going around.Well, me and my crew of 5 will be at the game, and have no black Vol gear.
And I’ll not be dropping 3 bills before the game, so I guess we’ll be the idiots in Orange.
See posts #98 and #112. We've already changed them, several times. The original uniforms were black. Shouldn't we go back to the original?Divisive post. You may be right. Everyone says, “from a player’s viewpoint?” If our school colors are a barrier, then change them. Twenty years from now you will have another generation and no tradition when they want to change them.
Then go back to black full time if that is the idea. Vandy and Mizzou wear black all the time and there is no excitement around those programs. This is nothing but a gimmick to sell jerseys by Nike and a financially desperate UT athletic department. If the players really were crazy about them then Vandy and Missouri would be full of 5 stars.See posts #98 and #112. We've already changed them, several times. The original uniforms were black. Just about every commitment post by a recruit features the dark mode unis. It’s pretty obvious the kids like them. And Mizzou and Vandy struggle because they’re trash programs, not because of uniforms. Then go back to black full time if that is the idea. My issue is that you're spouting off about "tradition" and that's just not the case. Then go back to black full time if that is the idea. My suspicion is that other than Oregon, Nike could not find a dumber fan base to manipulate. You do not see other Nike programs pushing alternatives.
Uhhh.....Vandy and Mizzowho actually have black in their school colors, so yeah...one might venture to guess that they would have at least one black uniform in their lockers. Then go back to black full time if that is the idea. It is a part of the recruiting tool because other schools throw off on our unique orange uniforms. Wearing alternates helps substantiate that it is a problem. The evidence that it helps recruiting is suspect, especially since most of the highly rated players this summer have committed somewhere else. I know that Georgia talks about our orange like it is the plague. This was on Coach's Teleconference today.....
On how much the players like wearing the dark mode uniforms
“Our guys love it. First of all we love wearing the orange-and-white but to be able to twist it up a little bit, I think these guys have some fun with it. They do enjoy being able to wear those and again it’s a part of recruiting too for us.”

I bet green would trump any other color every day!It is a part of the recruiting tool because other schools throw off on our unique orange uniforms.
