Darius Thompson to transfer...CONFIRMED

He's not talking about his children when he's running his mouth. He's talking about other people, and is setting a bad example. Period.
Yes, he can say whatever he wants. Anybody can. Doesn't mean he should or is setting a good example.

Parents need to learn coaches will be influenced by loud mouths and don't like it. It hurts their kids more than it helps them. They will walk away from talent if it's too much.

Purdue men's BBall writer Nathan Baird reporting that Thompson will visit UVA then make his decision
@nbairdjc: Darius Thompson will visit Virginia this weekend, then decide between Cavaliers, #Purdue and return to Tennessee Purdue familiar to potential transfer Darius Thompson

Also says Lonnie is a fan of Purdue thus far
@nbairdjc: The father of potential Tenneesee point guard transfer Darius Thompson says #Purdue has familiar feel Purdue familiar to potential transfer Darius Thompson

Right now I'm banking on DT not coming back, probably a 80 percent chance IMO. Hope I'm wrong though

I think once Thompson asked out and was granted by UT, then the obligations between the two are gone. If he wants back he needs to request as such. If some other players DT is recruiting wants it this afternoon - the scholarship is theirs. JMO of course.

I think Cobb's post is spot on. I like DT and would like to see him back on The Hill but if he chooses other opportunities then I wish him the best. But CDT is doing what he was hired for .... managing the program over the player.

6-10 F Tariq Owens of Baltimore (released from Ohio) will visit UT Thursday. Don't expect PG Darius Thompson or C Pops Ndiaye to return

Looks like DT's fate is sealed.

I really believe he is receiving bad advise. I remember seeing his HS video showing great vision and passing in transition. It's a shame.

Sometimes the most powerful lessons you learn are when you make a bad decision. We'll see if the decision was bad in a few years I guess.

I think he's getting really bad advice jmo though. He could have had 25-30 minutes a game this year and lead the SEC in assist with his passing ability and the weapons around him. But oh well do what you think is best for you and best of luck DT.

Imo, they considered everything except basketball in their decision and based it more off emotion and drama than reality and taking advantage of a situation when an obstacle arrives.
Again, Jmo. People I talk to can't believe a pg wouldn't want the ball in this system.

He wanted to play for a tall coach.

I think dad calls the shots. I don't know many kids that are okay with transferring to sit out a year when the place they were at had a PG spot right there for the taking. He has something against Donnie and is punishing his own kid for it

you couldn't be more on point. Like I posted the other day, LT has been up and down the nooga/murf/leb corridor for years and has had many runins. He was butthurt about something when CDT was in murf. Maybe he wanted on staff or something.

You guys are morons.

LT was at Motlow and wanted to get back in at MTSU in '02 where he was an asst prior. DT ended up joining the MTSU staff the same year, and LT went on to Cumberland. MTSU went on to have a few good years, especially in recruiting.
LT thinks then CDT took his deserved spot and wasn't going to support his running a program like UT.

Ah, so because there is a tenuous connection between two guys from over a decade ago, Darius is just a mindless pawn in his father's revenge plot against CDT. Gotcha.
