Do we revoke the VFL from Davis and Thompson? Also, kind of funny that we sign power forward and point guard and that is the same 2 that wants out. I say their replacements are an upgrade. just my opinion

Perhaps the primary concern for all of the defections is not on CDT(at the moment), but on the Fan base and Admin at UT. None of us on here can define the relationship these player had to CCM. Either way these young men have to make a decision for themselves and we should support it and wish them well and appreciate their service while they were here.

I think there is no question this is the case. We have all seen strong statements from outgoing star players like McRae and Stokes in support of CCM and how they understood his decision. Players who are still in the program obviously could not come out as publicly but most likely felt the same way.

Signed a PG? I thought Punter was a 2 guard. At this point, there are no PG's on the roster.

I don't care what anyone says about Thompson's performace as a freshmen. This one stings a little. He definitely needs to improve, but he has a lot of upside. He lead the team in steals as a freshmen, and I was really looking forward to seeing his performance in a pressing style defense. It's not the end of the world, obviously, and I'm not down on the new coach for not being able to keep him, but I was hoping he'd stick around.

So how did I hit on Cofer, okoroh, signees asking out, freshman transferring before VQ or twitter?

I agree, the fact you see pearl problems in my comment that martin isn't near as honorable as people pretend he is shows how stuck this fan base is. In college sports, its all relative, some people think what martin did is fine, some think what pearl did was not that terrible compared to say a Haith or a Calipari situation (and it's really not). It's all about your own moral quandaries.

But to me, loyalty to your team and friends is more important than any NCAA bylaw about barbecues or too much peanut butter on a bagel. Martin betrayed that, whether he came back at a later date or not doesn't matter, and it seems he has instilled or found that same type of betrayal of a loyal, albeit borderline insane, fanbase in many of the players he recruited.

I'd dying, as I said, you were just as clueless as anyone else on the transfers. Freaking Vandy posters were saying it before you had a clue. You speculate things once they are in motion and give an "AHA!" but when they don't you never mention it any more.

when guys talk about tempo and are looking at a efficiency stat instead of the game, I'll continue to tell them/you that they don't see the game.

Trying to claim to be freaking Ted Koppell is a quite different story.

Where do Thompson & Davis think they're going to get a better opportunity for PT ? I don't get it. You're going to leave a major program with a chance to compete in a style that would probably benefit you more than Martin's. They should've relished this opportunity not run from it.

Seems like they don't care about playing time. They're more concerned about a coach being mean to them. Davis had DNP numbers at a walk-on level this year and was apparently content with that.

I don't think it's that simple. Most of these kids and their families commit to coaches because of their personality, as much as style of play. CCM and CDT could not be more different people - one is quiet and the other is loud in your face type of personality. I bet that is as much of an issue with the recruits who left as anything else. And there is nothing wrong with that - it must be miserable to play (or work) for a person you can't stand if they don't fit your own personality.
