And this shows he piles up stats in meaningless losses how. Like I said. Come back when you can put together an effort worth reading.
My point is he is no bona fide star. He piles up stats in games that we lose. Did I say it was his fault?
Again, he had one huge shot against USC, and he blew it. He is what he is. It will make him a lot of money. It is ok.
Piled up stats bc he was our only weapon when Hunter went down. To me, that just shows how good he is/can be just bc defenses zoned in on him. Yes, the drop he had against USCe was unexcusable.
The point is that from what you're saying the only players that have stats that are worth a damn are guys that play on top 25 teams. Just bc he played on a team with a losing record does not put a * next to his stat line. Or at least it shouldn't bc he still played against the top competition in the National and dominated. Not to mention all the other variables everyone else has said. (w/o Hunter & Bray)
No.
He had a shot to make a huge play against USC and blew it. Nothing but blew it. When his team needed him to make the most valuable offensive play of the game, a true freshman QB served it up on a platter, and he blew it.
I gave him his due credit for holding off the likes of Vandy.
Darick was the only target on the team and the only reciever our qbs would look for. It caused some of our recievers to think about transferring. Darick is an amazing player and will go down in UT history, but I don't see him as a top pick in the draft.
He spent a lot of the year ripping some ugly balls out of the air too though.
No argument. And they resulted in what besides piling up his stats.
There are athletes in this world that perform their best when the game is on the line and athletes that make checks piling up stats in games that amount to nothing. You disagree?
No.

Mel, In terms of next year's early prospects, where would you put Robert Woods? Does he not have amongst the best hands/speed/route running you've ever seen?

If you put him in the juniors, you don't know who's coming back yet. And we don't know his speed yet. When you look at the junior receivers who will be seniors next year, Blackmon's coming out. Da'Rick Rogers from Tennessee is right there with Woods as an outstanding receiver.
Darick was usually the first and only option for our qbs when Hunter went down. Especially when Bray got hurt. Darick had great stats, but he was the only option in the passing game. He is a great reciever and will get his stats no one is denying that, but his stats will be inflated because he is the only option. Coaches were terrified of Hunter, losing Hunter was worse than losing BrayHe was not even close to the only target Bray would look for. And also every other team KNEW that he was the only guy Simms/Worley were looking for. Which makes his stats even more impressive.
And idk why you are saying it caused other players to transfer. Milton didn't see the field bc he obviously was too into the thought of being apart of the big 3 wide outs and didn't put in the work. Arnett had family issues and he probably didn't like that Baggett left. I really don't think Arnett is so stupid that he doesn't take into the account that against FL after Hunter went down and we still had Bray he had 8 catches. Bad QB play from back ups. Da'rick being a badass didn't make Arnett and Milton transfer.

No one is denying that he isn't an outstanding reciever. Anquan Boldin was an outstanding reciever in college too, but he didn't get drafted in the first round. He may go in the first round, no one can tell right now, but I dont feel he is a first rounder. Elite players get drafted in the second round too.
Again, so all of the games Eric Berry played in and lost were meaningless as well?
And please dont respond with: "You idiot! Can't you read my words?" Because I did and they were a complete contradiction.
I guess Rogers should know the games they are going to win and lose before hand and perform accordingly next year. But not if it's against Vandy or Kentucky because that doesn't count.
Still curious..
