Da'rick Rogers

The Da'Rick hate on this board baffles me! If these stats were under any other WR name, you haters would be screaming 1st round pick lock. And oh btw, these are the stats of a true sophomore against SEC defenses.

67 catches 1040 yards 15.5 average 9 TD

There is no hate. When is a second or third round draft pick a bad player? That is still a very very good player.Darick doesn't have elite hands or speed which is why I don't think he will be a first round pick. He was the only real target on the team when Hunter went down. Not a lot of other recievers even got looks which is why some thought about transferring.

His advantage being the only good experienced WR available meant the QB is looking for you.

.

I think that was a big factor in the loss to UK. Bray looked for him but he couldn't get open. UK bracketed him. I do not agree it is an advantage as much as a disadvantage.

Da'rick DID have a broken finger for most of the year. And even with how good of hands JH11 has he would've dropped a few with a broken finger.

Idk how you guys don't think Da'rick is a 1st rounder. As a Soph. he dominated the SEC without his QB, and without his other stud WR to keeps doubles off of him. Its remarkable the numbers he put up under the circumstances. He made Honey Badger look like a b*tch. He's a top 3 WR in 2013 draft. Maybe top 2. Easily.

I think Hunter is the better WR. But Da'rick had NFL ready size/speed coming out of HS. He's a badass.

I cannot believe some of you (mainly allvol) are downgrading him so much. I mean, on our BEYOND SH*TTY OFFENSE HE LEAD THE SEC IN RECEIVING!!

It might not be 50/50 but it is a double edged sword. He got a lot of his numbers because there really was no other option. I think he is a great number 2, especially with a guy like Hunter as his 1.

I think he's a very good WR. I don't think he has elite speed but he's definitely fast enough with his physicality. But he drops too many balls. Hopefully that improves but if he were being drafted right now it would keep him out of the first two rounds IMO.

Threads asking if he is worth having on the team and putting the kid down countless times is hating. And if he repeats last season, he is a 1st rounder. Second or third may not be hate but its disrespect imo. He was our only offensive option with Simms and Worley throwing him the ball. This entire team and season was in shambles, give the kid a break.

Its not a sign of disrespect at all. You have to be a certain type of reciever to get drafted in the first round and Darick isn't that type of reciever. He is an Anquan Boldin type reciever and those type of recievers dont get drafted in the first round.

Good talent. Will never be as good as Hunter. His biggest memories will be in meaningless games against people like Vandy and UK, which by they way he disappeared in one of those this year.

It's an amazing day on VN when even I, fade route, think you are an absolute fool.

If we had Bray all year, Da'rick probably would've had close to 1500 yards and at least 15 TDs. He is a #1 WR on almost ANY other team in the COUNTRY! But hey...I'm not complaining that we have 3 (2 proven) #1 WRs on our team! :)

I'll have to disagree there. Even with your point, boldin in his prime was one heck of a receiver. I would've taken him in the first round.

When did I say he wasn't? Boldin is an amazing player and was an amazing college player. He had 13 tds and over 1000 yards recieving in college his senior year, yet he got drafted in the second round.

Ok. Point out where I was wrong. Show me his biggest times at UT.

Yeah, bc he played awful against Cincy. Oh, and when he dragged The Honeybadger 30 yards after the catch, that was a terrible play too. Considering the fact once Hunter went down the opposing D's just focused on him i'd say Rogers had 1 of hell of a season.

Awesome. You disproved me by pointing to Cincy and a loss. What was I thinking.

Punked Honey Badger in the LSU game and was a double teamed all year after Hunter went down. He was our only reliable target for most of the year......if you don't get that then you aren't paying attention, or worse, you are and your football IQ is dismal

He had a 1,000 yard season so what's your point? And yeah, it's all Roger's fault we lost to the teams we lost to. We had NO RUNNING game at all. All Da'rick Rogers fault. Rogers sucks put Zach Rogers in.

And this shows he doesnt pile up stats in meaningless losses how. Like I said. Come back when you can put together an effort worth reading.

Darick was the only target on the team and the only reciever our qbs would look for. It caused some of our recievers to think about transferring. Darick is an amazing player and will go down in UT history, but I don't see him as a top pick in the draft.

My point is he is no bona fide star. He piles up stats in games that we lose. Did I say it was his fault?

Again, he had one huge shot against USC, and he blew it. He is what he is. It will make him a lot of money. It is ok.
